Sure he is! Dude...I get it. You hate Brady and think he sucks. It doesn't change the reality. FACT: Brady has a higher career winning percentage than Peyton Manning. FACT: Brady has outperformed Manning by a gazillion miles in the playoffs! FACT: Peyton Manning has played with FAR more talent around him during the course of his career than Brady ever has! FACT: Brady has three rings! FACT: Manning has one ring! FACT: Brady holds the NFL record for most TD passes EVER thrown in a season! Like I said...I get it...You think Brady is Derek Anderson. You just make yourself sound like a fucking moron with this shit! The facts are what they are and if Brady retires at the end of today's game, he'll still go down as one of the top 5 QB's in NFL history, period, end of story!

I'm only REALLY talking about this year, but YES, I hate Brady (only because I think he's a pansy, a whiner and complete drama queen) , but I clearly respect what he brings to the game and I CERTAINLY don't think he sucks. There was NEVER a time where I said or even thought that Tom Brady sucked. I challenge you to find any statement to where I said that Brady has sucked. Now that we got that out of the way, I agree with you that Tom Brady is a Hall Of Fame Quarterback and you certainly can't deny his numbers, but looking OVERALL at the position and throwing away rings and stats for ONE second, I still believe Manning is the better all around Quarterback in EVERY phase of their game, regardless of how many rings either has won. The rings take a complete team effort, but when breaking down playing quarterback and what each has talent wise over the other, then Manning RAPES Brady in that aspect, but these two are clearly the two best in the game, respectively, I just think Manning is better overall.

Still, this doesn't exclude the fact that Brady is struggling in 2009, excuses and knee injury aside.

Who gives a fuck? I have access to NFL.com. I know what the stats are dude! I also know that the season isn't even a third over at this point! All you need to know about what that list means at this point are that names like Chad Pennington, Kerry Collins, and Jason Campbell are showing up anywhere on the lists! Talk to me at the end of December!

I was just throwing it out there to throw it out there, I wasn't making any statement. I was just going along with the point of the conversation. And, again, I've been saying it all year, lets see in December. 8)

The Giants defense is being exposed in a HUGE way today against an unstoppable Saints offense! I was fairly certain NO would win this one, but the Giants forgot to show up for this one! Maybe they'll wake up in the second half.

I still think the Ravens are the class of the north. The Steelers have still not proved they are anything special at all this year, the Bengals are dangerous but have won on a lot of miracle games and have some issues, and the Browns... well, nothing to say about them. I'll be pretty surprised if Baltimore doesn't comfortably win the North when it's all said and done after 16.

lol @ Favre. Dude has to ask the backup QB if the Ravens kicker missed a game winning field goal in Minnesota as 50,000 people go fucking crazy. No, Brett, they're cheering because he made it, asshole.

14-15 for 250 yards and three TD's so far, in a snowstorm. Not bad for a guy who is all done according to our resident Steelers jackass genius

Time to shut the Patriots game off. As much as I love this team, I simply can't watch any longer. The Titans and their fans should be completely embarrassed by this performance. Get Brady out now and Hoyer in. I've seen all I can watch!

Hoyer went to my HS. I'm amazed he made it to the NFL at all. The Titans are laughable... how many teams have gone from the 2 extremes that they have in back to back years?

Some interesting happenings today... Saints crush the Giants, KC picks up its first win, St Louis blows it in their quest for win #1, and perhaps most surprising of all for me, Philly goes down to the miserable Raiders in an unceremonious 13-9 game.

This jets-bills game is outrageous. Sanchez has tossed 5 picks... and as I post, the hapless Bills just nailed a 47-yarder to upset a now-reeling Jets. Their promising start (and Sanchez's) has been all but nixed now after this second straight down-to-the-wire loss.

Jets: 0-2 since acquiring Braylon. He is a cancer, I'm telling you

As for your question about why the game got switched...the networks have always had a policy of switching blowout games to bring the audience a more competitive game. The only time that won't happen is if the blowout happens to be the home team of where you live. As much as I love the Patriots, that game was ridiculous. As I said, the Titans should be ashamed of themselves. The reality is that 20 of the Titans 22 starters were on the team that won 13 games last season. There is ZERO reason that they should suck this badly! I certainly thought 13 wins last season was a fluke. I still thought they were good enough to be 8-8 or 9-7!

John, can you remember such an abrupt turnaround from very good to laughably bad in back-to-back seasons? I know teams go from bad to good overnight quite often (e.g, last year's Dolphins compared to the 07-08 Dolphins). Can't think of that many teams that have gone from a huge winning season to unbelievably miserable this quickly though off the top of my head. You've got a much wider knowledge of football history than me, let's have it.

I would have like to have seen Tom throw for 10 TDs, and throw for 700+ yards....and he would have if he didn't get pulled.

While it is a bit surprising that the Saints won as convincingly as they did, if you look at the Giants record, and who they beat, it's really not that impressive. Prior to today, they defeated Kansas City, Oakland, Tampa Bay, Washington, and Dallas. That's a DREADFUL schedule and not really a schedule that allows you to realistically judge how good any team is. The only team they played prior to today who wasn't absolutely awful was Dallas, and Dallas is a middle of the road team (who the Giants barely beat by 2 points)!

Ehwmatt wrote:KC picks up its first win

No great shock here either. The Redskins are just not a good team. I realize the Chiefs aren't either, but I knew this game would be a coin flip!

Ehwmatt wrote:Philly goes down to the miserable Raiders in an unceremonious 13-9 game.

This was the absolute SHOCKER. Eagles fans must be jumping off of fucking bridges after this one. It won't be long before my buddy JoePa is on here screaming for Kevin Colb!

It's a beautiful day around Boston anytime the Patriots win big and the Jets lose! Rex Ryan is a fucking blowhard, and he can't lose enough for me. I know everyone hates Belichick, but at least he doesn't endlessly run his mouth (actually he never says a word about anything) and force his team to back up his smacktalk. I knew calling his rookie QB "Sanchise" would blow up on him before long! I can't wait to play these fuckers again on November 22nd. Bring it on you NY douches

Tennessee didn't even bother to show up, literally. I don't think they even planned to cover ANYBODY. Randy Moss and company LITERALLY was running alone, all night. Brady and Moss were playing pitch and catch like it was some kind of playground. Like John said, that was pathetically gut wrenching to watch. The Titans should be banned from NFL, or AT-LEAST not call themselves professionals. What a difference a year makes.

Well, it's still VERY early in the season, but in the past 45 years in the NFL, this has actually only happened 5 times. The "This" I'm referring to is an NFL team who had the best record in the prior season starting off the next season with one win or less in the first five games.

The 1976 Steelers started the season 1-4 after having the best record in 1975
The 1994 Houston Oilers (who are now the woeful Titans) started the season 1-4 after having the best record in 1993
The 1987 Giants started the season 0-5 after having the league's best record in 1986 (86 was the season Parcells won his first Super Bowl)
The 2002 Rams started the season 0-5 after having the best record in 2001 (I think the Rams were hung over from losing the 2001 Super Bowl to the Patriots in a game that EVERYONE on the planet...including me, thought the Rams would win)
This year's Titans represent the fifth time in recent history a team has started this poorly. I still have to believe they can turn this around somewhat. There simply isn't any turnover (aside from Haynesworth, who I realize was a great player, but not that significant) on this team for things to be this dramatically different!

I told you that was the right move, dude  I decided to start Brady in horrendous conditions and then cringed during the early game because Matt Schaub is my backup, and he had 4 TD's today. I thought surely I was fucked, but I guess deciding to start Brady and Moss paid off for me. I also rolled Williams and Jones-Drew out there. It was a banner day for my guys!

Funny you say that, in our league, Shaub is still available and is on waivers and I strongly felt to drop Eli in favor of him but I was too late in the waiver. I cringed also seeing him put up the numbers. I guess that's the way fantasy goes. Overall I'm pretty happy about my turnout. 8)

Dude...if Schaub is still available, you guys have a bunch of dopes in your league. I am honestly STUNNED by that. The guy has more TD's than ANY QB (yes, even more than Brees, Peyton, and whatever other name you want to throw out there) and only Ben has more yards (and not many more). Schaub has ridiculous numbers for any league to have him available as a free agent! Tell your league to wake the fuck up
