http://realnewsrightnow.com/2016/06/idris-elba-to-play-bruce-wayne-in-tyler-perrys-dark-knight-remake/

LOS ANGELES, Ca. – British actor and musician Idris Elba has landed the lead role in Tyler Perry’s upcoming adaptation of Christopher Nolan’s 2008 crime drama The Dark Knight, the actor’s publicist, Michelle Benson, confirmed on Tuesday. “Idris is thrilled to be a part of this project,” Ms. Benson told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s been a lifelong dream of his to portray Batman.”

Director Tyler Perry, whose previous films include Madea Goes to Jail and Diary of a Mad Black Woman, described himself as a die-hard fan of the Dark Knight Trilogy but said the film’s “distinct lack” of African-American actors inspired him to produce a remake. “We’ve got a great group of people working on this,” Perry told BET. “Kat Williams is playing the Joker. A lot of people said Heath Ledger made a great Joker, but I’m telling you now, wait until you see Kat."

Also included in the all-star cast is iconic rapper turned actor Ice Cube. One of the pioneers of gangsta rap, the former member of N.W.A. has signed on to play Lieutenant Jim Gordon. In a recent interview with The Source, Ice Cube said he plans to bring a “21 Jump Street-style vibe” to the Gotham City Police Department. In addition, comedian Kevin Hart is expected to appear in a minor role as Robin, Batman’s loyal sidekick.

Actor and author Sir Michael Caine, who played Bruce Wayne’s British butler and valet throughout The Dark Knight Trilogy, will appear in Perry’s adaptation – again – as Alfred Pennyworth. “I’m just relieved I don’t have to relearn my lines,” the actor joked. A source with first-hand knowledge of the casting process confirmed to Real News Right Now that Caine is the film’s only Caucasian actor.

Tyler Perry’s upcoming and highly anticipated movie, The Black Knight, is set to hit theaters in the spring of 2017. The film is rumored to have a budget of $380 million, more than twice that of the original motion picture directed by Christopher Nolan.

Ben Affleck’s Solo Batman Film May Take Place In Arkham Asylum

Said to feature a who’s who of iconic villains, Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie is quietly trucking along in development – and it’s a project that the actor-director will seemingly have full creative control over.

It’s still without a release date, of course, as all eyes are pointed to the release of Justice League late next year, an ensemble piece where Affleck will hold an executive producing credit. Once DC’s finest assemble on the silver screen, though, we fully expect Affleck’s spinoff of the Caped Crusader to kick into gear, and the latest speculative nugget to emerge suggests that a significant portion of the movie will take place in Arkham Asylum – Gotham City’s very own madhouse.

Citing sources close to the project, Batman-on-Film claims that Affleck’s masked vigilante will find himself housed up in Arkham, a plot that draws comparisons to acclaimed video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Developed by Rocksteady, the title imagined a scenario wherein the Clown Prince of Crime had assumed control of the famous psychiatric hospital, teeing up a series of traps and riddles for Bats to solve.

There’s also the possibility that BOF is referring to the Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth graphic novel by Grant Morrison. Either way, take this one with a pinch of salt for now.

Ben Affleck will next sport the cape and cowl for a small role in Suicide Squad before headlining Zack Snyder’s Justice League on November 11, 2017, followed up by the long-awaited Batman solo film soon thereafter.

A Batman Arkham film would be so insane. BvS continues to be talked about and regardless of how anyone feels about it, Affleck was fucking awesome and so was Gadot. 2 actors who got brutally torn apart when cast turned out to be the most loved portions of the film so that's just a win all over, especially Gadot ' s Wonder Woman being accepted. BvS had a lot to live up to and it fell short for many people, but Affleck's Batman and Wonder Woman needed to hit and they did. The future of DCEU is lookin bright.

The rumor of Batman in Arkham for his next film had to of come from the Special Features on the Blue Ray. Just watched Geoff Johns literally say "Fans are ready for a Batman movie in Arkham and a Belle Rev Suicide Squad" haha. So, there's that!

It's Comic Con weekend. Everything is in stand-still as things are about to be revealed, cinamatically, probably tomorrow. Come next week, depending on if WB decides to share a new trailer of the Wonder Woman movie, there will be a huge presence for it followed by the opening of Suicide Squad. After SDCC, the marketing teams will throw some juice at the appropriate time. It's the way it's always been. The anticipation of Comic Con right now is new Wonder Woman footage.

No, it's not funny. It's pathetic. Just an FYI: there are a ton of message boards out there beyond this one. This one is like a strip of artificial grass at the edge of a national park — the li'l strip they set the admissions booth on.

Oh, yeah...ever heard of Twitter? That, too.

The Hall H WB panel is tomorrow morning (Saturday), 11:30am – 1:30pm.

UPDATED: Mon, Jul 18, 05:37PM
Warner Bros. Pictures will showcase several of its most-anticipated upcoming feature releases in its Hall H presentation, headed up by master of ceremonies Conan O’Brien: Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen and director Patty Jenkins. Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach and Karen Fukuhara, along with writer/director David Ayer. Director Chris McKay and star Will Arnett from The LEGO Batman Movie. Charlie Hunnam, who plays the title role in Guy Ritchie’s epic actioner King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, from Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures. Stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts of Warner Bros.’ and Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island. Director David Yates with stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller and Colin Farrell from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

There are a bazillion panels, but I was scanning the online schedule and saw this:

At 10:30 – 11:30am, in Room 6CDEF (which is a good-sized room), there's a panel celebrating the 100th birthday of Forrest "Forry" J. Ackerman of Famous Monsters of Filmland fame. Among the panelists is current Famous Monsters publisher Philip Kim, DC Comics' Dan Didio, and (no kidding) Robert Fleischman, formerly of Journey.

I wonder if Cavill has been working out for JL? Damn, man. Snyder's training regime for his actors is certifiably insane. Literal physiques right out of a comic book.
