So you're getting that big EIC, MWP and AdditionalChild tax Credits?

the last 5 years I've been getting between 5000-6000 back. So even when ur daddy was in office I got the sane amount back than when ur black daddy got in the office !
( my kids are 6 & 3 )
Is that ok with you ?!

Not sure what your particulars are (re.income and married status), but it's an unquestionable FACT that under The Won, you are getting $400 to $1800 more back than under Bush. The Making Work Pay Credit and The Additional Child Tax Credit were just put into effect this year. They are REFUNDABLE Credits, like the EIC. Believe me, I know how this works.

You don't know what you are talking about. What do you think the Additional Child Tax Credit is? What do you think the Making Work Pay Credit is?

President Bush mailed you the same type of payment when he sent out those checks we got a couple of years ago, Fact Twister.

P.S. The government doesn't "let" you take or not take any of these credits--it's up to you. You do some research and if you're eligible, then YOU take the credits. You can amend previous tax returns if you think you missed any of the credits discussed above for previous tax years. Look into filing an amended tax return, Form 1040X. Depending on the credits, you could receive extra $$.

You might be eligible to increase your standard deduction by certain state or local real estate taxes, new motor vehicle taxes, or a net disaster loss. See Schedule L for 2009 tax year; for 2008 the IRS website has the particulars.

Fact Twister is PWNED ! 8)

Interesting, because nothing changed with us, our income or number of dependents and the refund under Bush and Obama was about exactly the same. I don't see HOW you figure it is so different. We have 3 children and we got back about what B is saying he did. About exactly what we got back for our 2008 taxes also. No way $400 to $1800 more. I wish!!

We paid around $9100 in both 2008 and 2009. In 2008 we got back just over $4100, this year we got back over $7200. No changes in dependents or anything. They did allow me to claim my tuition, books and stuff I bought for school. They didn't let me do any of that for 2008.

I bet you forgot to include the stimulus check you recieved from Uncle Bush back in May/June of 2008 ;)

I've got everything I need right here on my desk/desktop, it won't be a problem at all, I'd be happy to do it.

You really expect anyone to give you their personal earning information??  Yeah right!! My husband is a staunch Republican, and he does our taxes and did them the last 2 years. He has no love for Obama, but doesn't see how you people are saying we got so much more from him. There is not a difference. That's all you need to know :P

Fact Finder wrote:Don't tell me I am Pwned, or that I don't know what I am talking about, lest I run circles around you and make you look like bigger fools than you are. I've done this for 30 years.

If you guys are getting the same amount back in a refund as last year, with little to no changes in income or circumstances, then I'll tell you point blank that you were the recipient of an increase in your paycheck during the year, after Obama instituted the withholding changes so people would get a bigger paycheck. The average paycheck increase was $13 to $16 dollars a week. This was part of the making work pay credit. Some people, depending on how they are paid got the credit during the year ie..weekly..others got it back as an $800 refundable credit in April with their tax filing. The $13 to $16 dollar paycheck increase correlates to $800 for a married couple and a single would have seen an $7 to $9 dollar a week pay increase or a $400 MWP credit. If you got it weekly, then yes, you didn't see a bigger refund because you got it during the year. It's still the same amount and resulted in $400 to $800 more in your pocket than last year.

The MWP credit is for 2 years, 2009/2010 as of now, and is capped at 6.2% ($400 or $800) of income upto $75,000 single/$150,000 married filing jointly.

Anything else?

You still dont know what youre talking about,,, cause all the mumbojumbo you said about the paycheck increase, has NOTHING to do with the CHILD TAX CREDIT we were discussing. PLUS as I mentioned earlier, the stimulus I got back in 2008 ($1800 for 2 adults and 2 children), was still bigger then the few $ extra I get on each pay check now......
Also,, the stimulus per paycheck from Obama is given to those who WORK,,,, but the Bush stimulus( like the $1800 I got), did benefit those NOT working as well.....
But of course you will keep on twisting facts again and run around in circles , to make yourself look like the biggest fool here. Still PWNED,,,

Both have been instituted this year and are benefiting thousands of folks with much bigger refunds. You can argue with me till you're blue in the face for all I care, but you are wrong about this.

Im gonna argue this with you till YOURE blue in the face, cause youre still twisting shit.

My whole point is, my tax return was the same for 2009 and 2008,,,,,, sure I got a bit more EACH paycheck during 2009, vs 2008,,, same job , same family situation,,,, but OVERALL I got pretty much the same TAX RETURN,,, AND in 2008 I got an $1800 stimulus check which ended up being more than the extra $ I got per pay check during 2009.

But of course, you know better than the rest of us, cause youre always pointed out as the smartest one amongst your friends,,,,

If you wanna keep current, you also have to compare to something. Saint John & Donna were complaining about the extra $ people get for having kids,,, and you have to compare 2009 to 2008 to see the big picture. If you want to keep current, then you may only speak of anything tax related TODAY,, so as I was getting ready to PM you all my tax info for 2009 I remember that we have to stay current and you can NOT bring up anything from 2009 either ,

Exactly. When gas prices hit $4.00 I thought to myself, there is no way the economy can sustain this hike in the cost of good solds and commuters being forced to cut back on extra spending. Sure enough, in September 2008 everything came crashing down. I was forced to lay off two employees and I haven't rehired anyone. Go figure.

It's okay Melissa, the guy is a first class asshole, who believes any conspiracy in the Bush administration, and in the same breath denies or defends tax cheats, self-avowed communists or any other known FACT about the current administration.

Glenn Beck has dug up a few clips of Obama officials quoting Mao, and naturally, thinks he's discovered some kind of smoking gun. It's not. Even McCain quoted Mao on the campaign trail. Means nothing. Just another distraction for small minds. Additionally, Van Jones, a low level czar, flirted with communism in his youth. Big deal.
Here's what counts - The officials who actually hold sway over economic policy (Summers, Geithner, Rubin, Emmanuel, Bernake) are all cut from the same Goldman-Sachs/Wall Street cloth, and would feel right at home working in either the Clinton or Bush administration.
The modern day GOP, in its floundering death spiral, has defined communism down to mean ANY action undertaken by the government.
Goldwater, Eisenhower, and even Nixon, would not be caught dead associating with these reactionary teabagging assholes.

How many more house and senate seats do you think democrats are going to pick up in November? They'll regain their supermajority in the senate for sure huh?

You guys can take the whole thing, as far I care. But if you have no interest in actual governing, what difference does it make? The GOP is so intractably wed to tax cuts and their AM radio overlords, that they cannot seriously begin to adress the nation's problems - all of which involve a certain degree of pro-active government and yes, tax hikes.

Here's what I want:

-Make the tax rate 15% for everyone. For every dollar you make, regardless of income, you pay 15 cents in taxes.

-Make the government work with whatever the budget would be with a 15% tax rate. Start by eliminating virtually every social program ... excluding those for retards and the handicapped.

-No returns at the end of the year for any indivdual. This is just fucking stupid. The single, and equal, bracket would make this obsolete.

-No child tax credits. You had the little motherfuckers ... pay for them.

-Completely eliminate the IRS for individual returns. Tax is taken straight out of payroll so they only need to worry about businesses. This would probably eliminate this rogue entity by about 80%.

Screw the 15% income tax. I still think it's criminal to forcefully remove money from your check before you ever see it. Institute the Fair Tax and then the rich will pay more in taxes simply because they consume more.

George Dubbya Bush. Vilator of basic constitutional rights. The only President to preside over two recessions, and the only President this side of Hoover to have a net job LOSS in one, let alone two, terms. An illegal war in Iraq that is the biggest factor in the current recession (which started under Dubbya).

Yeah, he was fucking great. Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat idiot - full of hot hair and a complete lack of facts, data, and evidence to support his outrageous theories. The sixth circle of hell is waiting for that hatemonger.

Saint John for president! :D
I agree!

Screw the 15% income tax. I still think it's criminal to forcefully remove money from your check before you ever see it. Institute the Fair Tax and then the rich will pay more in taxes simply because they consume more.

Fuck the Fair Tax. They also spend more. Equality ... everyone should pay the exact same amount per dollar.

The Fair Tax WOULD be equal. Same percentage for everyone on the purchase of goods and services. It's also voluntary, i.e., not forcefully withdrawn from your income with you having no say in it.
