You would be assuaged were Obama not a black man. However, he is. That's the root cause of 95% of the anti-Obama vitriol. Middle-aged white men don't like taking orders from black men.

Most people with the ability to think for themselves know that Obama's presidency has been decidedly moderate.

Yeah...because the Huffington Post is a dead center news source?  THEY think Obama is Moderate because they are WAY LEFT of the President...and that is saying something...

Obama is tanking in the polls my friend...and it's NOT because he is a moderate by any means...as for you assertion (not backed up by ANY facts mind you) that Obama is despised because he is black...think again...it's because of HIS POLICIES....not his skin color.

But being the liberal you are you definately have the race card play done right....

That's an outright lie. They feel entitled to a check because they paid into. There is no guilty feeling. If that were true the AARP would not fight against cutting benefits for those not in need.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'd be happy to educate you, you uneducated self-serving idiot!

Yes, prove that seniors feel guilty about receiving $'s from today's workers. That is just made up BS.

Well someone needs to explain to today's seniors that they paid for YESTERDAY'S SENIORS...of course NO politician is that brave...they like the perks of being in elective office too much....

Monker, my quote was about the 62 year old woman that 7 Wishes called a "self-serving idiot". I agree that she along with every other senior deserves what they were promised. It's not their fault that the whole thing was a great big scam from the get-go. My folks are in the exact same boat, they still want their S.S. payments, but want and vote for whichever candidate is more likely to scale back government. They know their 10 grandchildren are on the hook for it. That quote from that lady is pretty much what I hear from my folks whenever politics comes up.

Oh, brainless wonder...first of all, this country would be in ruin without social security. Get that through your think Neanderthal skull, OK? Secondly, my point was that, regardless of whether or not you agreed with his policies, if FDR hadn't stood up to your Nazi buddies, we would ALL be speaking German now.

Whether or not you're Hispanic (and that word is capitalized, incidentally) has nothing to do with whether or not your views are frighteningly similar to those of the Nazis.

Any 62-year-old who wants to ensure she gets her entitlement programs but wishes to deny others those same benefits IS a self-serving idiot. Anyone who aligns themselves with the Tea Party is an idiot, an ignoramus, and a bigot - period, end of story.

The extremism of the Tea Baggers is already causing a calamity - and when it causes the vote to split this fall, it will be even more apparent.

Have fun at the rally this weekend. Did you buy another can of Gillette "sensitive skin" shaving gel? Because the last time you posed for a picture with your other Aryan psychopaths, I could see the razor burn bumps all over your head.

Incidentally, I have already provided numerous links in the past proving the GOP increases the size of the government, increases spending, and spurns a decline in economic growth. So, go ahead and continue to live your lies.

The fact that 25% of you believe Obama is "the Antichrist" and another 46% actually believe he's not eligible to be President is further proof. The undercurrent of racism is very apparent to everyone else in the world...but it doesn't surprise me that you're always the last one to catch up with reality.

7 Wishes wrote:Some defended being on Social Security while fighting big government by saying that since they had paid into the system, they deserved the benefits.

Others could not explain the contradiction.

“That’s a conundrum, isn’t it?” asked Jodine White, 62, of Rocklin, Calif. “I don’t know what to say. Maybe I don’t want smaller government. I guess I want smaller government and my Social Security.” She added, “I didn’t look at it from the perspective of losing things I need. I think I’ve changed my mind.”

This says it all, and contradicts the article's assertion that the Tea Baggers are "well-educated". They're uniformly hypocritical - they want theirs, and don't want anything "taken away," but don't want other people having the same opportunities to get what they have.

Most Tea Baggers aren't true conservatives - they're self-serving idiots.

It doesn't say or contradict anything.

"some" are conflicted... not "all" as you are trying to claim... uniformly hypocritical when not all want the same thing, or aren't even sure?

Okay dipshit, put your money where your mouth is. I'll put up $100 for every house seat the republicans lose. You put up $100 for all the democrats lose. The dems currently hold 256 to the reps. 178.

I'll put up $500 for every senate seat as well. The dems have 59 and the pubs have 41. C'mon smart guy, take Obama's balls out of your mouth and put your money there! After all the republicans vote is split! Please, please, please God let him actually be this stupid!!!

Heinrich, I never once suggested that the Democrats would gain seats in the election. No sitting majority party has done that since the 1800's. What I am saying is that the GOP is already counting their chickens, and not realizing there is a backlash starting against the extremism of the Tea Baggers, who will in turn split votes off in some key elections this fall.

love the poll that has the breakdown of the folks that associate themselves with the tea party. how about the woman that was happy with her social security and medicare? at the end she went home.

Wow. What a ridiculous post.

Since there have been countless acts of racism at Tea Party rallies, this question is perfectly valid. Some of the placards suggesting "Lynch Him" might make one think twice about attending a rally were one not a rich, middle aged white man.

Here's a tip for you: Most "rich" people don't have the time to take out of the middle of their day to [possibly travel] and sit at a rally all day. Why? Because they are too busy working.

I personally think the tea parties are stupid. I agree with the spirit of them, but all they are in the end is publicity podiums for politicians, talk show hosts, and the like.

That is not proof of anything. That is hearsay BS.

Show me a poll from any unbiased source that shows that seniors feel guilty for receiving social security.

You are taking TWO people and applying it to an entire class of people. That is no different then saying teabaggers are racists because of the indefensible actions of a few.

You are being a hypocrite.

I'm actually siding with the GOP on ensuring the bank bill doesn't have automatic bailouts for the mega corporations. What's so funny is that Republicans have been - and still are - in bed with the banks and Wall Street. They're still courting themselves as pro-industry and portraying the Democrats as anti-business - in other words, talking out of both sides of their collective asses. What a joke.

Sarah Palin's "Political Action Committee" has raised over $400,000 since the first of the year.

Anyone care to guess where it went?

$243,000 to consultants
$11,000 to photographers
$31,000 in traveling expenses
$7,700 de-icing small plane aircraft wings
$3,400 for one night in an expensive New York City hotel

$2,000 to other PAC's
$0.00 to the 20 Republican candidates running against Democrats for Congressional seats in 2010.

She quit as governess of Alaska to make money. But she's also a hypocrite and a selfish bitch, too.

And she's the best the GOP has to offer. What a joke.

Dan, please explain the "Selfish Bitch" part for me. She's a fucking politician. These are expenses that ALL politicians spend their damn money on. She DID jump into politics in Alaska and she DID save them some money. What's your fucking beef with her? You don't HAVE to like her, but you're bringing up some bullshit, non-important issues. Politicians blow money... tell me how much money Hillary or Obama spent and then we'll talk more about it! :?

Hey dipshit. Remember the " 's " also means ownership. It's money donated to her to spend as she sees fit. Of course you being the Obama statist, ball-licker that you are, you would have a problem with her private property.

You probably have absolutely no problem with the speaker of the house flying her family around on our dime though do you?

House Speaker’s Military Travel Cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a Two-Year Period, Including $101,429 for In-Flight Expenses
Contact Information:
Press Office 202-646-5172, ext 305

Washington, DC -- January 28, 2010
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Air Force detailing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of United States Air Force aircraft for Congressional Delegations (CODELs). According to the documents, obtained by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Speaker’s military travel cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol. The following are highlights from the recent release of about 2,000 documents:

Speaker Pelosi used Air Force aircraft to travel back to her district at an average cost of $28,210.51 per flight. The average cost of an international CODEL is $228,563.33. Of the 103 Pelosi-led congressional delegations (CODEL), 31 trips included members of the House Speaker’s family.
One CODEL traveling from Washington, DC, through Tel Aviv, Israel to Baghdad, Iraq May 15-20, 2008, “to discuss matters of mutual concern with government leaders” included members of Congress and their spouses and cost $17,931 per hour in aircraft alone. Purchases for the CODEL included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey, Corona beer and several bottles of wine.
According to a “Memo for Record” from a March 29—April 7, 2007, CODEL that involved a stop in Israel, “CODEL could only bring Kosher items into the Hotel. Kosher alcohol for mixing beverages in the Delegation room was purchased on the local economy i.e. Bourbon, Whiskey, Scotch, Vodka, Gin, Triple Sec, Tequila, etc.”
The Department of Defense advanced a CODEL of 56 members of Congress and staff $60,000 to travel to Louisiana and Mississippi July 19-22, 2008, to “view flood relief advances from Hurricane Katrina.” The three-day trip cost the U.S. Air Force $65,505.46, exceeding authorized funding by $5,505.46.
“Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel. And these documents suggest the Speaker’s congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Judicial Watch previously obtained internal DOD email correspondence detailing attempts by DOD staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker’s last minute cancellations and changes.

US rage as Clinton opts for Swedish crystal

Swedish glass maker Orrefors Kosta Boda has landed a $5.4 million contract to supply fine crystal stemware to US embassies worldwide.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's State Department handed the multi-million dollar contract to a small Washington DC-based firm who in turn brought in Orrefors, one of Sweden's best-known brands.

The items are to be embellished with the seal of the United States and used for functions at 400 embassies and ambassadors' residences worldwide.

"We are very happy and proud to have won the contract. We are hopeful that this prestigious order will boost our international sales - especially in the USA," company spokesperson Eva-Marie Hagström told The Local on Tuesday.

The order has however been met with angry reactions from some quarters in the US who feel that the contract should have gone to an American firm.

"Hillary Clinton's State Department is spending $5.4 million to buy fine crystal stemware for American embassies - but it won't give the US economy much of a boost," the New York Post tabloid reported on Monday.

Politicians have also expressed concern over sending the prestigious contract overseas while unemployment remains high in the US.

"This is about fighting for American jobs. The US government should not turn its back on American workers and send job opportunities abroad," Republican Pat Tiberi and Democrat Eric Massa wrote in a letter to Hillary Clinton two weeks ago, according to news agency TT.

The firm, located in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in rural Småland in southern Sweden, explained that it had brought home the order in the face of stiff competition and that the US state department had warmed to the firm's environmental profile.

"We won the contract for our design but they were also interested in our lead-free products and environmentally-friendly approach to glass making," Eva-Marie Hagström said.

The specially designed glass dinnerware series is taken from a classic Orrefors model created by Gunnar Cyrén and has been given the name Jasmine.
