Ok, I listened. "Death By Hollywood"...HORRID!
Improving on stage, cool but it needs to fit within the established song. Otherwise Alex wouldn't have had to say anything.
Sounded to me like it was ALL spin! He still sounds messed up. He wanted more than 3 songs, he was out voted, it was more like 50-50, there were songs he didn't even like and he was out-voted???What? You were trying to do songs you didn't even like? I don't get it.

I am sorry, but there will never be a Van Halen if Eddie remains in this shape.

I read that same thing from Eddie. He would NEVER allow someone into the band that he didnt believe would be good for the band. Ed is the control man here. He's responsible for it ALL. That's why blaming MIKE POST that III was crap because of him is complete and utter BULLSHIT.

Hey, I absolutely love COLOR ME BLIND by Extreme. It's a great song. III SIDES is definitely better than PORNOGRAFFITTI. It's a phenomenal album. I've always wondered WTF happened with the their next album? I guess it was grunge.

I think Sammy said in a recent interview that VH is done. The next incarnation, if there is one, will not include him.

Although he did have some great shows, a handful of them were by reports erratic. Spurred by "sloppy" playing. There was the bizarre "bar" event (I forgot what city, location) where he was kicked out because he was publicly intoxicated and annoying other customers. There was also his bizarre behaviour at the Dimebag Darrell tribute. Apparently, he said some strange stuff, and he was noticeably drunk. Zakk Wilde came out and criticized him, I believe.

Also, while the man "beat" cancer, he apparently thinks it won't rear its ugly head because there have been reports that he's smoking again. I'm sure his former wife just gave up on him because he didn't want to take care of himself. She probably doesnt want to be around to see him destroy himself. He seems to be on a self-destructive path, and most likely will have debilitating health problems coming his way.

Eddie's place in the music world is cemented... his place in the guitar hall of fame is sealed. I want to hear more music from him, and I hope he's able to find peace and to successfully defeat his demons.

It's so hard to get behind this band anymore.. I love them dearly(both singers), but how they expect fans to back them, to support them, when they (the VH brothers) won't get their shit together. By the way, that last "cash in" tour they did, IMO, was terrible.. I would think somebody with their talent would commit better and play better. Now I definately know why Soul Sirkus wasn't able to play with VH in LA..they would cook VH, that's why...

Well, I'd just like to state for the record -- being my first post here and all -- that I never gave up on Van Halen. Whether a change in styles, singers, health, you name it. I have been and foresee that I will forever be a Van Halen fanatic!

And very well said mate......welcome!!
Too many people here seem to be here merely to bag the band, Eddie, the Hagar years, whatever.

I'm with you. Even if the band never records another note, or plays another note live, they have still achieved more than most bands will ever dream of, and their place in rock royalty is assured. Edward inspired literally millions of players, and millions of imitators, but there will only ever be one Eddie!!!

Andrew just reported up front the Best Of Both Worlds is platinum, shifting over 500 k US. That's sales, not even shipments. These guys still have the goods I hope the band doesn't go on too prolonged a hiatus again....

Im absolutely sure there will be reunion with Dave at some point. And its good because I never really used to Sammy´s vocals in VH. I like some of Sammy´s solo stuff but somehow he didnt fit in VH.

Agree. It's just inevitable. The aborted '96 reunion is far enough in the rear now, and I think both Dave AND the band learned from that. Big as the Sam reunion was last year, Dave would topple it.

I would pay for great seats to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth as lead singer. If The Police ever got back together, I'd see them.

No fucking way.

Never happen. You got 2 of the biggest assholes in music, in Eddie and Dave. They won't even talk to each other. Wishful dreaming. Eddie will keep drinking and Dave will be behind a radio mic.

This band was so good, and now they are a complete joke. They could have been a top 5 band of all time....

Van Halen is easily a top 20 greatest all time band. When David Lee Roth was in the band, I'd say they were a top 14 band.

Van Halen could be considered a top 8 all time band. However, there's a lot of people that think that other groups have a fair claim at being in the top eight.

What the Hell, dude?

Top 14? Top 8? You are beyond gone. You know I was hoping VH would actually get to the top 6, but looks as if they'll have to settle for top 7. See, ACDC took the 4th spot, and Zeppelin had the top 3, so Journey wanted top 6 also, but couldn't get past the top 9. So that pissed off Neal, who always thought they had a top 11 band, only to be told he was only top 18. Damn! Then Perry called me and said they weren't top 12, so I figured they might snag top 17. But the top 15 had been reserved, so we landed Journey in the top 22..VH got the top 22 also, but wanted top 13.

JESUS CHRIST! You seriously posted "top 8 and top 14?"

I understand you need message boards for companionship. However, I am stating that Van Halen with David Lee Roth is easily in the top 14 greatest bands of all time. Some people believe Van Halen could be a top 8 band of all time.

I am stating that could be true with a lot of other people. However, other fans favorite bands such as Pink Floyd, The Who, U2, Tom Petty, and others might push Van Halen to the top 14.
