I was going to post the exact same thought. MTV definitely enables this kind of stuff, and the VMA Awards have been more about tasteless controversy than the awards themselves for quite some time, even if it's just some rigged stunt like Bruno wrapping his butt cheeks around Eminem's face. I can't even take them seriously anymore. But the worst part is that they'd let an artist suffer in her moment like that and be humiliated on national TV by a jackass like Kanye. At the very least, they should issue a public apology and bar him from attending future shows. Like that'll happen.

Exactly. They'll want him to keep coming. Heck, next year he might kill a Jonas Brother right on live TV, or deflower Madonna's daughter during a music number. After what he did to Taylor Swift, wouldn't surprise me. MTV can't let publicity like that get away!

MTV has also acquired TVLand, and has proceeded to trash that. They are all about drama, and pure garbage, and don't care who gets hurt. Their award shows are a total joke, as is their network. They're an example of the atrocity that television has become.

True...seem entretain but forget about the music, at the end this is only a tv show, but not a real music one...now regarding to what this rap singer did to this pretty poor girl that don't sing is totally out of line

For me after the 90' first years MTV got worse and worse..

He didn't play the race card over it at all. No, he just said Beyonce's video was one of the best of all time insinuating Taylor didn't deserve it. I don't know where people get such speculative information from.

Are you fucking serious? Given the amount of times that piece of shit has either complained of non-existent racism (i.e. race baiting) or exposed his deep seeded reverse-racism.....does anyone here have any doubt as to WHY that shitbag stormed on stage?

Here's a white girl beating a black girl for an award....holy fucking shit, stop the presses. Moreover, a white COUNTRY artist beating out a black R&B artist.....give me a fucking break.

This entire thing is fueled by race...and you know it.

Why is it that blacks are allowed to read between the lines identifying racism, but whites arent?!! Nice double standard there....

Frank, please see my later post regarding this matter. Thanks.

I was simply clairfying Kanye didn't get up and say "Taylor is white, Beyonce was robbed because she's black." People inferred that since he has done similar acts in the past that this must have been a racial matter as well. And whether it was or not isn't a big fucking deal. He's Kanye, he's an ass. Plain and simple. People assumed. People are the ones who are playing the race card over this.

Your subsequent post doesn't clarify it at all...

As I remain, why is it that whites are not allowed to read between the lines and blacks do it all the time? How on earth does FEMA's mishandling of the Katrina incident translate to Bush being a racist? Kanye was certainly reading between the lines there...and agree with him or not, the resulting issue from that is that Blacks across the country came to similar conclusions regarding Bush.....

now IRRESPECTIVE of whether or not Bush is or is not a racist...the fact still remains that the conclusion was drawn without Bush, FEMA or anyone else making A DIRECT statement regarding blacks in NO being denied aid.

Kanye west drew his OWN conclusions....and what's good for the goose is good for the gander, Rhiannon.

Did Kanye explicitly make a statement regarding the color of Swift's skin, Beyonce's or his own? No!

Did he have to, in order to send his racist message? Absolutely not!

Again, nice double standard there.....

I was going to agree, but I thought about it. I think if she was black maybe he wouldn't have done it, but really it's way more than she was white: It's because she's young and he could get up there and bully her and she's a country singer; thus, not cool enough nor in the same league to even compete with Beyonce in his eyes. Believe me, he wouldn't have messed with Pink if she would have won (she would have had him by the balls) and maybe not even Katy Perry (she's feisty). So bottom line, a coward who bullies young girls and prejudiced against country music.

No shit. I assume Kayne never sat down with a couple cold Mickey's Big Mouth and watched Journey's Separate Ways shoot. That was maybe the best of all time, sorry Beyonce.

Cyndy, whether or not Kanye actually believes his racist outbursts...I do believe he does it for publicity....

...and that his outburst last night was as calculated as any other. Unfortunately, at the expense of a very sweet, nice, young white girl.

I fully expect that to backfire on the rapping racist....because it is about as off putting as Rick Lazio brow beating Hillary Clinton on tv.

That's another thing. God forbid country music steps in on R&B's turf. Rap and R&B have held MTV by the balls for almost 15 years now...and I dont think Kanye West was going to take that sitting down....Fuck, a White Girl stealing his turf!

So Kanye saw a soft spoken, 20-something girl who weighs 90 pounds soaking wet take an award at an MTV show...and he got all gansta. 'Yo, who'dis Ho comin intuh town stealin mah shit!"

His act was no different than a crack dealer getting pissed that someone was trying to clean up his hottest corner.

Jesus, I forgot how completely and utterly awful West's command of the English language was. This guy makes money writing lyrics?

If I were Myers, I'd have been just as embarrassed for subject matter as I would be for the display of shitty grammar.

Look at his eyes when he speaks... There's absolutely no life or intelligence behind them. It's as if his skull is completely empty and he's trying to grab a hold of the incoherent phrases bouncing around in there so that he can answer!

Why does it matter unless you're wanting free public reign to do the same. Which I'm sure you have given freedom of speech. No body is "allowed" to do anything. People of all races say bonehead shit which may be racially rooted all the time. It only seems to garner attention when someone is doing it against white people. There is a strong double standard and bias in relation to what is swept under the rug and what is made into controversy in society but seriously, who cares? Why is it that when a cute little white girl from a rich suburb goes missing it's all over the news 24/7? But let a impoverished black girl go missing from a project and see how much coverage Nancy Grace gives her. It all goes both ways, and it shouldn't.

Kanye west drew his OWN conclusions....and what's good for the goose is good for the gander, Rhiannon.

Indeed he did. He's a dumbshit. I'm not saying by any stretch it wasn't because Taylor is a white girl. I'm just saying unlike before, he didn't outright cite that. So everyone just assumed. And two wrongs don't ALWAYS make a right. Though in this case the only important thing is that he's again, an ass. And Beyonce showed pure class letting Taylor come out later.

I mean, not to go down a spiritual path, but you'd think middle America would've been more up in arms over that.

It's MJ sitting on set for his "This Is It". The quote is from him from the movie's trailer... and the Long Live the King part is just a little catchphrase.

I would bet money that they suggested to Beyonce that she give her speech time to Taylor. That was a total setup. I've also heard reports that MTV execs were the ones that made Kanye apologize. They do the cleanup, for sure.

Bullshit, Rhiannon. This isn't about two wrongs....this is about holding someone to the same standard he holds others....there's a difference. But I'm fairly sure that you know that. You're just seizing a self-serving opportunity by trying to point out my comments as an injustice where there isn't one.

Let me be clear. The vast majority of West's public comments, when not *directly* relating to his music, production etc are nearly always race fueled (and a vast majority of his comments relating to his music as well). Yet, if I understand you correctly, *I* am being presumptuous for reading between the lines on his actions as NOT racist? Do you use a screwdriver to pick the horseshit from the grooves in your boots or do you do it with a nail file?

Sorry...there's implicit actions and explicit actions in the world....you'll learn that both are acceptable in society and *not* wrong or right...what is wrong and right are the messages communicated through those actions, both explicit and implicit. Just because someone is implicitly being a racist (which happens to be the one exception to the fact that he is explicitly one the rest of the time), it is NOT a wrong calling him out on his racist actions...In fact, it's EXACTLY the opposite.

The thing that is BEST about all of this is that he obviously likes and respects Beyonce, and look, HE ruined HER moment. Now he has to live with that..... THAT he might care about. She needed to do what she did, but she didn't HAVE to and I really respect that.

Exactly. They'll want him to keep coming. Heck, next year he might kill a Jonas Brother right on live TV, or deflower Madonna's daughter during a music number. After what he did to Taylor Swift, wouldn't surprise me. MTV can't let publicity like that get away!

Bwahahahahahahaha, snort, cough, hahahaha!! Wonderful, girlie! Loved this! I too believe this is all bullsh*t, an "industry" prank or something. Perhaps a publicity thing. At any rate, and this is merely my nappy-haired, big-boobied opinion...I am sure all parties involved will come out ahead. Kanye will do a B. Walters special crying about how he is misunderstood and that he misses his mother; Miss Swift's album sales and recognition will soar; and Beyonce, no offense, but I would love for that girl to have a coupla kids I'm sick of her, she will retire from the industry as a class act. :D MBPL
