Well, since they filmed the rehearsals, auditions, and all three funerals with RED cameras in 12 mil MP HD. I'd say YES.

Rhi , thanks for the info , dear , but could you repost your answer AFTER lar is done pouring his lil heart out and share with us about his magical night(s) with The Ph. ;)

Leave poor larry alone! He gets tortured enough

seems a bit too soon for me. Same with all the commercials using Jackson's songs as jingles.
I'll watch it on DVD. I remember the last live thing I saw of him on VH1 (it ran a bunch) and it didn't look live at all-- or rather, it looked live, sounded recorded. That just doesn't interest me much. Hopefully, that's not the case with this film.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Well I wasn't paying attention and I didn't realize "limited engagement" meant 2 weeks. So I guess I won't be seeing it. Hopefully they'll extend it (and I assume they will, because there's money to be made).

Saw the global simulcast last night. No spoilers for those interested, don't worry.
It would take way too much explaining to spoil anything, anyway.

So my review is: Wow. :o Just wow.

It's a great escape from the perceptions of what goes on with Michael Jackson, especially of late.
I think there might be a sequel. See this movie, enjoy it, then see it again.

Rhi, you never miss a thing. Here, I was going to log on & change my sig line to "Love Lives Forever" & you already beat me to it. :D

As for the movie "This Is It": I loved it. I will definitely buy the DVD. Michael Jackson is absolutely amazing. The man moves with such fluidity. I loved the choreography. All of the dancers were great, but I have to admit there were a couple of times when I didn't know whether to cry or throw up. My stomach was in knots. Dancing’s what I do & so this entire movie spoke volumes to me. I would have given my right arm to have been able to be a part of that experience, to be able to dance alongside Michael Jackson!!! What an honor that would have been. He's truly a multi-talented icon & such a humble, benevolent man with not an ounce of arrogance in his soul.

RIP, MJ. You're sadly missed.

A mysterious acquaintance of mine recently said:

"It really is all for love, the second you lose that, the second it's all in vain. If you're meant to get it, you did. Lead by no example but yourselves, follow nothing but your own heart. We are out own worst enemies. Always kiss and make up."

I'm sure he doesn't mind me sharing these words. And considering the true message of the movie, which I hope didn't fall on blind eyes, deaf ears, closed minds, or broken hearts... I think it was necessary to share.

Glad you enjoyed it Jason. But go see it again. :)

(And go ahead and put "LLF" in your sig. That's a message that can't be duplicated enough.)

Echoing everyone's sentiments - 1000 times WOW, most incredible thing I've seen in ages. Smiled most of the way through but also very sad. I will go see it again if our stupid town actually does run it for more than a couple of days.

i was worried that i would be sad & crying throughout the entire movie, but it was filled with so much L.O.V.E, joy & inspiration, there was hardly any time for tears. one split second that was so emotional for me was near the beginning, where the director says, "hold for applause," as michael is standing frozen with a serious expression. as the spotlight blacks out, michael breaks character & busts out a big fat grin, as if he just can't contain his joy.

i'd like to see it again in imax, just across the bay in emeryville, but since the bay bridge broke yesterday, a 15 mile trip has turned into about 100 miles. i'm really hoping they'll fix the bridge by the end of the week.

Ooops, maybe I should clarify my earlier post for those who haven't seen the movie & are debating whether or not to go b/c they think it might be a little too sad & depressing....

Like Cyndy & BJG said, the movie is great. The music is great. The dancing is great. I do recommend going to see it. Earlier, when I said my stomach was in knots & I didn't know whether to cry or throw up, that wasn't meant as a negative towards the content of the movie. That was a personal reaction based on envy. I dance & I didn't see anything on the screen that I can't dance myself so I was kind of beating myself up for dropping the ball on that one. I knew about the concert & auditions & I should have at least tried, but I chickened out b/c Michael is such a legend. I'm regretting that now.

The movie itself is not depressing. It's a positive look into the making of MJ's concerts. Do go see it. You won't be sorry. It's highly inspirational.

Ps. to Cyndy: I caught that grin as well & I had the same impression you did. MJ truly loved being a performer & pleasing his audience. Despite the controversy that surrounded him, he was a good man with a big heart.

Let me clarify too - no, the movie itself is not sad or depressing, but rather, very uplifting. I truly was smiling most of the way through - it was only after walking out of there the sadness kind of hit, thinking that it was just so unfortunate this couldn't have continued  . What a talent.

More booty :) :) :)
