A lot of eateries in L.A. are carrying the Mexican Coke and touting it in their commercials.
Domestic Mountain Dew can now be bought with the Sugar Cane mix also..

How people can drink that pisswater Mountain Dew is beyond me. No wonder it was never exported overseas.

I liked the Pepsi Throwback. Can't seem to get it anywhere around here (NYC area) anymore.

Anyone here an original Crystal Pepsi fan? I remember having one of those while home from college. Picked up a grilled pizzaburger at Fat Mike's and then an ice cold Crystal Pepsi (back in the days of glass bottles) at the 7-Eleven. They took it off the market and then brought it back as some citrus-flavored abomination.

I'm getting ready to go see Celtic Woman in another hour or so at the Pasadena Civic. My second time seeing them this year and my last concert I'm going to attend for awhile.

I'm pumped.

I can only drink Coke once in a rare while - and not out of a can or bottle. It has to be in a glass, with ice - and vodka, and a lime wedge. They do sell a sugar cane root beer here that's not so bad, though.

I prefer diet Coke to diet Pepsi, but regular Pepsi tastes so much better than regular coke. I am diet Coke fiend though. :D

I hope you had a great time...

Complete opposite. Pepsi has a sweeter taste and uses less carbonation than Coke

Coke seems sweeter to me too. I used to drink at least 3 cans of Pepsi per day up until a couple of months ago and I'm down to 1-2 per day max. When I cut back, within 2 weeks I was noticeably down a pants size, so it really makes a difference, but I don't really like anything else. I cannot easily drink a plain glass of water - it literally reminds me of when I was little and I was pushed underwater in a pool repeatedly, couldn't breathe, and swallowed so much pool water I spent the next day throwing up. I'm trying teas, etc. and a friend sent me a file that has a ton of brand and restaurant recipes - I tried the one for Lemon Snapple and it's pretty good! I have to make some more tomorrow.

I wanted to try Pepsi Throwback, but when it was out last summer my brother looked for me when he went to the States, and no one in the stores had heard of it!

For light: Pepsi MAX
For regular: Coca Cola

Can I vote twice?

Let's try.

Edit: No, I can't. That it's Pepsi since I drink Pepsi Max more.

Coke made with pure cane sugar has about half the calories of coke made with corn syrup because sugar is sweeter than corn syrup so you use less, + it has a lower glycemic index.

It takes like the Coke most of you remember as a kid, and it comes in the same cool glass bottles. It's pretty much awesome. :)

I've seen those bottles of coke from Mexico but I wasn't sure about them (the water, I guess)...didn't know they had cane sugar, 'tho.
I voted regular Coke - no diet stuff. I've cut down a lot, but I still have to have my fix...only it has to be fountain coke with ice and a straw...or once in a while the little glass bottles (there's an antique store I visit once or twice a year with the old-fashioned machine that you can pull the coke bottle out of...reminds me of my childhood). Yep, I'm an addict...that's all we drank as kids 'cuz the well water was so bad (sad). But, now I limit it so I can stay thin & keep things in moderation...much more water, plain iced tea, herbal teas. It's probably not normal that I still get some sort of happy feeling seeing a red coke truck or the emblem...in Russia I was happy to find Russian coke in bottles...the familiar in a very unfamiliar place.

Actually, Pepsi is sweeter. I had to drink several Cokes everyday, craved it, but now that I haven't had Coke or Pepsi in several years I can't stand the taste, not even a sip. Way too syrupy. That shows you how addictive it is re the taste buds.

If you're ever in Fort Wayne IN , make sure you visit Coney Island downtown , where they have these $1.25 coney dogs with $1 coke bottles (glass). You step in there and it feels like you took a time machine back to the 40s diners.
I usually order 4-5 dogs and 4-5 cokes. :D

4 or 5 hotdogs  I could never eat that many :P and are the cokes those little bottles? Or bigger bottles? I think the glass bottle coke is better. And I don't think it's just in my head

My local Kroger in Cincinnati carries that Mexican Coke. I always wonderd what the difference was. Weird seeing Coke bottles in the same aisle as Salsa and Taco Shells and Burritto Wraps.

hey, I am heading to cincy now! An hour out. Now I'll be checking all the kroger's for the "real" coke

Kroger Superstore at 5 Mile and Beechmont. I swear it used to be there in the Mexican aisle. Been awhile since I paid attention though.
I don't know where that is! We're staying in West Chester with family. They might know though
It's a bit out of the way as I'm sure you're shooting straight up 75. There is a monster Kroger up in West Chester though, they might carry it.

HA!

I just called the West Chester Kroger on Princeton-Glendale Rd and the gal said they carry Mexican Coke. I assume they have some in stock, check the mexican aisle as it won't be with the rest of the soft drinks.

awe, that was nice of you to call! Thanks! Maybe I'll be able to get there this week and see what the difference is

Coke in a can, chilled to near freezing. Perfect.

But when in USA, Pepsi tastes better at a number of locations so I generally go for that. Go figure..... (Yes, AU Coke recipe is a little different.)
