It's rare for a Giant team in recent years to lose 3 in a row, but there are major problems going on in N.Y. Eli isn't playing to form, and their defensive secondary is now exposed to the entire league and they are taking notice. Dallas is quietly working on a 5-2 record.

Right, but they've defeated Carolina, Tampa, Seattle, Kansas City (who they had to go to OT to beat), and Atlanta, so they really only have one legitimate victory. Dallas is a middle of the road team with awful coaching! I don't even know where to rank the Patriots yet, due to them playing Tennessee and Tampa the past two weeks. They have New Orleans, Indy, Miami, and the Jets (a game they have ZERO shot of losing) in their next four, so I'll receive my judgment to see how the month of November unfolds!

Dallas is def in the middle of the pack and I don't think they have that great of a team, but with the Giants looking terrible at the moment and with Philly sitting 5-2, Dallas's 5-2 record is quiet and they are sneaking in that division. Looks like a 3 way dance and could go either way. Philly is the class right now of the East.

Miami is turning MAJOR heads. If they haven't lost the close games they've lost this season, then they would be a scary team at the moment. Miami is looking to surge in the 2nd half of the season.

I couldn't agree more. I said here when they last played the Jets (I believe it was 3 weeks ago) that I like this Miami team and they are FAR better than their record. This kid Henne looks like he could be something.

Oh and the Broncos proved who they really are today... severe overachievers this first half of the season, imo, as I've been saying all along. Don't be surprised to see them finish with a great record though, and then go tumbling out of the playoffs in unceremonious fashion true to 08-09 Titans style

Denver is a team that was in a mixed bag earlier in the season and won some close and good games. I've compared them with the Titans of last year too. They are peaking too early by simply playing mistake free football, protecting an average QB, and playing stout defense, all in the midst of not really being challenged to the point to where they could be challenged and be pressured into situations offensively and more importantly, defensively. It will catch up to them eventually but it's still a team you don't know what they have until they had a loss like this, against a team that was hungry in a tough environment. We'll find out what kind of team Denver has next week against Pittsburgh on national television and see how they respond to a beat down.. one that was coming.

Outstanding Minn/GB game. Lived up to the hype. Favre is showing why age doesn't matter and that he can still play in this league for many seasons to come. The man's fastball is just as strong as when he was 30. Man is a competitor through and through and I love watching him.

Let's not get too carried away with Favre! He has 16 TD's on the season and almost half of them are in the two games against his former team. Anyone who has watched football more than 20 minutes knows what happens when a player leaves a team under not great circumstances and comes back to play their former team. There is a reason I benched Peyton Manning in my fantasy league this week and played Favre, and it's not because Favre is the better QB! Ask the Bears how their Cedric Benson beatdown went recently! Favre is definitely playing well, but in spite of the media ball washing that goes on with this guy, his history tells me that he'll probably cost his team a playoff game when the chips are down by making another moronic throw!

Sorry dude...I'm not a degenerate gambler so didn't know what the spread was. After watching the Titans play New England two weeks ago, I'm not sure how anyone on the planet could have them favored to beat anyone on the planet (with the exception of maybe the Browns, Lions, Rams, or Raiders)!

History says a lot of things and could favor one thing over another. That aside, I am talking about now and the chips that are on the table. The Vikes are 7-1 heading into a bye week, led by a 40 year old quarterback who many thought his best days were behind them just one season ago. Since his surgery on his shoulder, it's proven dividends, mix that in with flashes of the strong arm returning, and running a system he's ran for 16 years, and there you have a 40 year old legend rejuvenating his career for the time being. He still can perform better than any quarterback out there, and can still make the throws he once made in his prime. He's a helluva player to watch, and the Vikes are a better overall team because of him. The gamble is paying on for both sides.

As for the playoffs, who knows. Favre, like you said, is known to throw the wrong ball at the wrong time. Is he due to blow one? Maybe. But at the same time things are coming together for Favre and that is health. He seems to get better each week, and with Peterson and the talent around him, along with a stout defense takes pressure off of not throwing that bad ball in the post season. He's thrown many bad balls before and is known for it, needless to say he needs to prove otherwise in the post-season if somehow they don't fall apart the last 8.

I just think the way Favre is playing, that the Vikes have a serious shot at going all the way. The only reason why I'm giving Favre TONS of credit than say, years past where he did blow a lot of games, is because the pressure is NOT 100% on him and this isn't Favre's team, it's Peterson's, who happens to be one of the most dominant running back to hit the field in ages. This takes a lot of pressure off of Favre not to force the throw he would of forced all those years in Green Bay. You're 100% correct though, If and maybe when Favre does blow a game, maybe in the playoffs, I will NOT be the least bit shocked from that outcome. Matter of fact, it was just 2 years ago to where he did throw that horrible pick in OT against the Giants. As for right now, the Vikes are tough as nails because of him and it's easy to see that they feed off of him.

Can you believe the season's half way over?! Where does football season go? I enjoy this stuff way to much. Fly's by.

The Falcons are definitely reeling but so were the 49'ers yesterday going against an equally (to New Orleans) impressive team and the 49'ers gave the Colts all they could handle! New Orleans is CLEARLY the better team and in my opinion, the best team in the NFL, at this point in time! That said, the Falcons definitely have an offense that can keep up with the Saints if they play smart and protect the football!

I was quite surprised by the Panthers performance...no reason they could not have been playing like this since Week 1...hopefully we can keep it up for a few games. I have no hopes of any Playoff spot, but it'd be nice for the Panthers to at least go 8-8.

SAD DAY... watching MINN GB... it was hard as a GB fan to watch Brett play well against the Packers... that said... the game was VERY EXCITING to watch.
the momentuem breaker I thought was Minnesota had 4th down 5 yards to go or whatever it was 1st quarter... Jolly does THE STUPID head butt thing, getting penalized and a first down to the Vikings...then giving the Vikings a chance to score 7... instead of the score being tied 3-3... CHANGED THE WHOLE atmosphre of the game, the crowd, everything... Brett comes in gets the score 7-3... and deflated the crowd for the first half... especially since the Vikings fumbled on the fist posostion and GB only got a Field Goal... and Rogers gettig sacked WAY TOO MANY TIMES during the first half as well...

GLAD the series of MINN and GB is over for another year.... TOO DIFFICULT to watch for me as a Packer fan....
