My question is this... if you have your co pay for doctor visits...at 20.00- 40.00 or whatever the price end up being.. in the future with the govt plan... what if you need real care ER type services, surgerys, tonsels, knee replacements.. MRI, catscans... what type of coverage will we get... you know with your own insurance.... some have 90-10... some have 80-20... up to a certain amount..... HOW MUCH WILL COME OUT OF OUR POCKET FOR THESE TYPES OF SERVICES...
Rick, allow me to tell you what I DO know,m instead of letting the Cons lie and scare you with bullshit made up by Limbaugh and Bachman and Palin, all terrible people by the way.
IF you have health insurance, you have nothing to worry about. Nothing will change for you. The only thing that may change for you, is if you become really sick, and your insurance company tries to jack up your premiums to make more money, they are not allowed to do this any longer. That's it. That's all. This is a fairly simple law. The only thing that may change with you, is that your premiums will NOT go up, you will never be denied insurance due to a pre existing health concern, and if you lose your job, you will keep your insurance. That's pretty easy to remember isn't it? Anybody tells you anything different is lying to you, plain and simple. This law is in the best interest of the American citizen. So, you got that? You won't lose your insurance, you can now apply for lower insurance rates if you wish to do so, by buying into a larger pool, thus saving you and your employees money on premiums, and speaking of premiums, they will not be falsely jacked up. If you have children, you can keep them on your policy until they're 26 years of age, and if you have any children, they cannot be denied coverage for any reason. You keep your current insurance if you like it, and you keep your doctors as well.
NO ONE is getting anything free Rick. Nothing in this law is free.
Tell me again please as to why you don't like this law again?[/[b]b] There isn't one single bad thing in it.
I just dont want govt in my life this way. pure and simple... you might like that... but not me.... but I will say the insurance
companies in the end screwed themselfs... by not catering to the way american way of life has changed the lsat 40 years...
the high costs of chatostraphic illnesses, the technology... the insurance compaines worst practice was denying coverage.. and that is the ONE THING I LOVE about this bill... as my spouse has asthma... to get new insurance... I doubt if she would have been able too, now she doesnt have to worry about that... THE WORST PART OF THE BILL... GOVT WILL CONTROL OUR LIFES... at some point in the future.
Again, YOU SIMPLY DO NOT LISTEN. Government is not involved AT ALL. The only thing Government is doing is protecting the citizens against ridiculous false premiums. There is no Government intervention. This is not Government Health Care. What part of this do you not understand? There will be absolutely NO changes to people who have their own doctors and current insurance. The only thing Government is doing, is PROTECTING YOU from losing your insurance if you lose your job, and stopping evil insurance companies from raping your wallet. Again, why is this so hard to understand? Please, explain this to me.
in the end govt does want to take over the health care...why go through a year of fighting if govt did not want to take it over??? Why the hurry to pass the bill... then... what does SINGLE PAYER and PUBLIC OPTION then mean to you... where will the competition come from in about 5 to 10 years...when the private insurance industry is forced out??? just saying... these are legitment question for the future... and I am conservative by nature... not becuase of RUSH or SEAN...

Give it a couple years and it will be all about high premiums and here comes the public option. Nothing in this bill is about reducing health care costs, which is what is needed NOW. BTW I've never watched Beck, Limbaugh or any of the guys on the extreme right.
I'm thinking this is Obama and friends strategy. Don't do anything to cut costs, make sure premiums go up and they make a case to get what they really want.

The government may not be "involved" in the bill but we all know from past statements by Obama, Biden, and the other Administration cronies that this is but merely a step in that direction.

You told the truth here Dave. Thanks, and yes, there is NO Federal Government intervention, yet. My hope is that if this works, and it will, someday we can add in the Public option.
See Rocknroll, even Dave, a hardcore righty, validates my claim, that THERE IS NO US GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION.
You piss me off Dave, but I never said you were a liar. Actually, you are a pretty stand up guy, and I apologize for getting in your face last night, but at least I know where to draw the line, unlike another person here.

What are you babbling about? There is NO Public Option, and there is NO Single payer. Those two items, in particular the Public option, is what I wanted badly in the bill but didn't make it. That would be an example of Government health care. However, since they are not in the new law, there is absolutely NO hint of any government intervention whatsoever. Why did Obama want this bill? Well, firstly, he wanted more to be sure; he wanted the Public Option, because only with the Public Option do you truly get health Care reform. Blueskies was 100% correct when she stated that this law is really health insurance reform, not health care reform. It's a start, but it doesn't go far enough. Anyway, back to the question at hand- You needn't worry about where "competition will come from in 10 years." Insurance companies are not going to go out of business, LOL. They are just going to be regulated in such a way that they won't be able to bend you over and assrape you like they do now. Obama and the Democratic party, hate em all you want, passed and signed this bill into law because they were looking out for the American citizen. No one can truthfully say otherwise. The republicans cannot and do not deserve the right to even comment on this- they were nowhere to be found and wanted nothing to do with this whatsoever. If this law somehow fails, the Dems will own it, and likewise if it succeeds, the republicans cannot lay claim to participating in this historic legislation, and that, right there, is why the GOP will hope and pray that it fails. if it succeeds, they won't get a sniff of power for decades.
Now Rick, I like you dude, I really do, but I haven't lied to you about one single thing here...the republicans however, have lied, many countless times, making up shit like death panels and other horrendous unbelievable crap. I have just proven to you that there is NO government intervention at all involved, and also have proven that there is no drawbacks to this law for the American citizen. You will only be helped here, not hurt. I have proven that to you, unquestionably, have I not?
I have proven that you get to keep your current insurance, and your current doctors. You get to keep your premiums at a sane and reasonable price, and they cannot be falsely raised due to some bogus hike by the Insurance companies in order to make boatloads of jack. You will not be dropped by your insurance company because you may have a pre existing condition. Your children can stay on your policy until he/she is 26 years of age. While some of these changes will be implemented in2 years, some of them will be immediate, such as the children's insurance, along with seniors benefiting from lowered pharmaceuticals.
I made my point to you the best way I know how. I get you and Dave confused because you are both righties, but he pisses me off more for some reason. You're both good guys though.

I just made my point to Lights1961, a pretty solid, locked case. There were no holes in it. If I can convince Rickster, certainly I could convince you, but you know what? I don't have to convince anyone any more. It is the law of the land. Learn to live it is what I should say now. There is no way it's getting overturned, or repealed, LOL. If they really campaign on this, then Michael Steele will be unemployed next year, and the GOP will be a third party, with absolutely no relevance, behind the Democratic Party and the Tea Baggers.

so you don't like a public option? up until now the insurance companies could charge what they wanted, cover what they wanted, deny as they pleased, and pretty much stick it to the consumer. any person who waits until they are sick to buy insurance is a fool. any person that thinks they don't need it because they are healthy is a fool. one can buy a policy that is in place with a high deductible and low monthly premium to cover the big "what ifs?"
