AOTW for me goes to: UFO - Strangers In The Night. Classic hardrock never had it better, they were at their peak and Schenker's playing was as phenomenal back then as it is today. Only You Can Rock Me, goosebumps all the way! :wink:

Ronnie Le Tekro - Extra strong string

Not a bad album, a few good songs. Just not that keen on the vocals.

On the sleeve notes it says that Jorn Lande handled some of the background vocals, Tekro should have given him a load of money to sing lead vocals. I'm sure the album would've sounded better.

Or he could have had the background vocals mixed louder than the lead vocals... :lol:

Great album Doggy. Criminally underated band with one of the best guitarists to ever grace the planet. Can't wait for the new cd 'Organic' later this year.

AOTW goes to Dare "Out of the Silence."

If you were forced to get rid of ALL of your AOR collection, and keep only one title from the AOR genre, this would be it. Keyboard-driven AOR with the music style of Asia and vocal harmonies that rival Def Leppard. Brilliant!

In the light of the Pink Floyd reunion tour rumours that I have been reading the past week, my AOTW is Pink Floyd - Pulse. Yesterday it turned out that the rumours are in fact just rumours. No plans to reform...

Oh well, as a lot of Pink Floyd's lyrics are about bygone times, it makes it an even more appropriate CD for this week.

I'm gonna bend the rules this week as well. I haven't listened to full albums, but rather, individual songs on different albums.

But if I'm forced to take an AOTW, then it's gotta be Nightwish "Once." I've played 'Nemo' to death and I can't get the damn song out of my head!

I think next year we'll be flooded with Jorn albums... This Lande/Allen thing, new Masterplan, Jorn also plans to continue with his solo stuff and there seems to be even more coming... but in the last interview I read with Jorn Lande, he said he couldn't talk about that.

Since it is Jeff Scott Soto week for me my AOTW is Lost In The Translation. It is okay, but to be honest I must say I like him better on the Talisman albums. The music on those is more diverse, and has an 'edge' that I am missing in his solowork.

I've always had a spot for Helloween, and they were excellent when they supported Iron Maiden a few years ago.

My album, Vinnie Vincent Invasion - All systems go.

Not really a big fan of Mark Slaughter's vocals, (Even though I like Slaughter

), but I like the album, it doesn't matter if there are no stand out tracks.

Friday and today I've been listening to Mercenary's new album, 11 Dreams. It's different to the first couple, they've become more melodic. Maybe a bit too extreme for most of you but I think Tali would like it.

Love it.....especially the songs 'Sharpen the Edges' , 'World Hate Centre' and 'Supremecy'.

My AOTW is Lunatica "Fables & Dreams." I don't think it will wow the female-fronted power metal fans that have heard it all before, but I love the vocals, and they're not afraid to put the keyboards in the front of the mix.

AOTW is debut EP by Hurricane Party. These young guys have supported some biggest names in hard rock in past year eg Queensryche.
I'm shocked that Mr Rock hasn't plugged them yet.
