I just wrote a long post about Sherman and how he thinks the Seahawks lost due to bad calls and it didn't post. Rather than repeat it all, I'll just say fuck him. From start to finish, he was a cheap player they way he defended Crabtree (and defends everyone) and the Seahawks got away with a lot more than they should have. Niners got away with maybe won.

Gore and Kap had key plays near the end of the game and that was the difference, not their 20-yard difference in penalties over the course of the game.

And they didn't even do it by winning. They did it because DEN beat TEN. So Manning wins the division for the Colts again. :)

Honestly, at this point I don't even think Indy is as good as that 8-5 record, either. They've been blown out three times now and aren't getting consistent play out of the WRs they have left after Wayne went down for the year. It's a good thing Andrew Luck has been so good in the clutch, otherwise they'd probably have about the same record as the Jaguars right now.

With Gronk's injury, the AFC is so godly wide open it isn't funny. Here's my take on the teams in playoff spots right now.

Pats -- If they have Brady, they always have a shot. But they can't win every game from behind, can they?

Broncos -- If the defense doesn't make a stop, Manning will have to outscore his defense, yet again...something he couldn't do in the playoffs last year.

Bengals -- This is, IMO, the most complete team of the contenders. Andy Dalton will make or break their run.

Colts -- You know my running gag with this group. They have the most holes of all the playoff teams. Reggie Wayne should be the league MVP, because Luck looks terrible without him.

Ravens -- I'm not counting out the defending SB champs if they get in. They were playing just as bad at the end of last year before they made their run to the title.

Chiefs -- They're equally as dangerous. Alex Smith and co. is actually putting points on the board now. But can the defense stop the better teams?

On the Outside

Dolphins -- If they squeak into the playoffs, I feel they could be a dangerous team, that is, if the O-Line can keep Tannehill upright. They look good when he's not on the ground...last night's play notwithstanding. :)

Steelers -- It's all about catching hot at the right time, right? You don't do that stepping out of bounds with wide open game winning TD ahead of you.

Chargers -- Philip Rivers is playing good ball, but I expect Denver to knock them out of contention next week.

Too many weaknesses on the other outside teams to even consider any of them a threat.

Opinions?

Gronk really can't stay healthy, can he? First he breaks his arm at a gay nightclub, then he tears his ACL and MCL

For me, I think the AFC is all Denver's. They'll have home field throughout (unless something drastic happens), and I believe with the way Peyton is playing, their defense doesn't really matter much. I do like this Bengals team, but simply can't move away from the fact that they're the Bengals, and I think Marvin Lewis is a fucking AWFUL coach! No team coached by Lewis is winning a Super Bowl! I saw nothing yesterday to change my mind that the NFC isn't going to come down to Seattle or San Francisco, with Philadelphia and Nick Foles someone to really watch.

The NFC will have to go thru Seattle at home. we got a preview of what that looked like for the Saints.
they are not as good on the road, I believe they will go to New Jersey and get crushed by the Broncos.

That was rough. I didn't expect that outcome at all.

So if Carolina lays down, NFC West could send 3 to the playoffs. Doubtful though. Carolina has a much easier remaining 3 games than Arizona. And SF still has to keep winning.

I didn't see the whole thing, but I agree it wasn't Romo. It seemed like it was Defense and other factors above all. And Chicago is a much better team, in my opinion, than their record lets on.

The Cowgirls are a horribly run organization, period. As puke-inducing as the "America's Team" thing has always been (for those of you who don't know the story...they gave themselves the nickname) to an NFL fan outside of Dallas (or frontrunners), the reality is that the Jacksonville Jaguars have more playoff wins over the past 20 years than Dallas has. Jerry Jones is a MORON and in my opinion, one of the absolute worst owners in all of sports. The guy doesn't have a clue, and seems to think that he's Vince Lombardi and George Halas rolled into one! The truth of the matter is that the Cowgirls have had a ton of talent over the past 15 years, so them sucking as badly as they have is really inexcusable! There have been MANY teams in the NFL over that same time with FAR less talent who have won FAR more games. Hell, the Patriots have won Super Bowls with less talented teams than the Cowgirls have missed the playoffs with!

We did NOT give ourselves that nickname. Bob Ryan of NFL Films did. And ya know something else?? Tom Landry HATED the nickname.

What the fuck is Tomlin doing here? Is he seriously interfering with a play on the field again, right after trying to run into an opposing player? Wow!

Agreed. I don't know a true Cowboys fan that likes the nickname. I think it's fucking stupid. It was, however, brilliant for marketing. They made a ton of money off that stupid moniker.

Okay. Well whomever gave them the moronic nickname, 99% of the Cowgirls fans I encounter embrace it and run their yaps about it. Rick is probably the only Cowgirls fan I've ever even me who seems to agree that it's just plain fucking DUMB! I will say this...I'm not sure that there is a more delusional fan base, in all of sports. Dallas hasn't won anything since the world was flat, and to listen to their fans, you'd think they're this NFL juggernaut! It's actually comical. I'm not sure any team with more talent has lost more games over the past 10 years. I have no idea how any fan can embrace that dope Jerry Jones and how he runs (into the ground) that team! That fucker and his act would get run out of Boston.

Don't lose sight of the fact that these are the Bengals and that Marvin Lewis is your coach. I can tell you this...The Bengals are absolutely NOT winning out. They still have to play Baltimore, Minnesota (who toyed with the Eagles today) and Pittsburgh. It wouldn't shock me if the Bengals lost two of those games.

I think you're okay tonight, because the Steelers have about as good of a shot to get into the playoffs as I do! Those fuckers are already on the golf course. If the Patriots win next week (and I'm certainly not sold on hat idea), then Baltimore could be out of it, and perhaps the Bungles do get an easier road than I think they're going to have. In either case, the Bengals have talent, but I just can't see a Marvin Lewis led team winning anything!

Really loving the NFC West. My wish would be for Carolina or New Orleans to stumble the next couple of weeks and Arizona to go to the playoffs with San Francisco and Seattle. For that to happen, AZ would need to beat SEA or SF or both. So, doubtful. NFC West has 4 more wins than the next closest division, the AFC West.

I still don't see any evidence than SEA will fall in the playoffs, but any given Sunday, right?

I think CIN will win their remaining three. They should anyway. I think they are a better team than PIT, MN, and BAL.

So so happy to see Alex having all that success at KC. Truly deserved. What a game for them today. Alex benefited a lot from YAC, but still - playing top notch.

Romo. December. It seems to just be one of those historical things that someone is cursed with. He seems to have a great 4th quarter percentage (one of the best) - but something about December and January with him. And what was with Bryant walking out before the game was over? That didn't look like an injury thing. It looked like a disgust thing.

Giants. Damn what a fall. How many turnovers are they going to have by the time the season ends?

I thought this weekend of football was going to suck. Turned out to be quite entertaining - lot of close games.

The more things change...the more they stay the same. The Bungles proving once again that they absolutely fucking DESPISE prosperity, which is why I will NOT take this team seriously in the playoffs. Luckily for them, the AFC is wide fucking open (unlike the NFC), so anyone could truly win in the AFC. I'm not sure there is an AFC team who I would pick to lose to the Bengals. Their best shot will be sneaking into that second seed (which could still happen, because the Patriots aren't a lock to beat anyone) and getting a team who has to play on Wildcard Weekend coming to Ohio.

As for the Cowgirls...same old Romo. Nice job Tony. I've spent another season listening to delusional Cowgirls fans tell me how "great" Romo is and how "great" this Dallas team is. There can't be a more clueless fan base in all of the NFL. They all talk like their team is "the team", when the reality is that there are generations of kids alive who have never seen this team win a single playoff game!

On another note, sad that the Cardinals probably aren't going to get in, and that just pisses me off. I hate how division winners automatically get in, no matter how awful their record is. I'd much rather see Arizona get in than ANY team in the NFC Least! The top six teams should get into the playoffs, regardless of where that record puts them in their division. Teams shouldn't be penalized for playing in a really good division, and other teams shouldn't be rewarded for playing in a dog shit division!

Someone forgot to tell the Steelers that their tee-off started at 830. No matter, the Bungs started on the back 9 instead. I had a great feeling about this game all week. I knew we
would take it to these guys to show we weren't going to be bullied by the default AFC North leader. The Bengals fail to impress me. Even with a disoriented Steelers team in week two didnt impress me. They are just a mentally soft group around the board and have no idea what it takes to show up when they absolutely need to. No surprise.
