That's an important word to know in German!

Serendipity wrote:Actually it means "of the week". The Germans have this thing for conjugating their articles, making it virtually impossible to learn their language...
And indeed it is, because I just realise that "Woche" is feminine, so the correct way to say "of the week" is "der Woche"  I also need to listen more to Rammstein...

Haven't seen it around (Powerplay) but i have been listening to both Freak Guitar albums in my car a lot the last few days. The latest one is truely an instrumental masterpiece. I've been jamming Freak Kitchen and Freak Guitar down anyones throat that will listen. All the guitar teachers at work go nuts about it and the guys at the local music shop always give me huge discounts because i gave them a Freak Kitchen complitaion cd for the shop and it blew them away. Mattias rules so much :D

But, I like to listen to Rammstein... Their lyrics are funny and smart, and they write great riffs. ;)

As long as you know what I mean... Be glad my album of the week wasn't Baron Rojo! Or Urban Tale... Or T.A.T.U... Or....

Still going on Within Temptation "The Silent Force." I still can't believe they have no interest in touring in the states! They could easily open up for Evanescence and sell $hit tons of albums!

I agree they would be able to sell loads of albums. Was it the band themselves who've said they had no interest in touring? :?

My AOTW is Threshold - Replica. It's basically a best of, but with alternate versions of previously released songs, and two unreleased tracks. The songs are either acoustic or remixed in a way that the synthesizers are more prone. However, the "synthetic remix" (the name says it all) of Opium could have been left off IMO. On the whole the album sounds more transparent than a regular Threshold album to me. Very refreshing.

Yep, they sure did.

But even if they're not, at least make the album available in the US and promote it. That way, there is the option of touring if it happens to sell exceptionally well.

I'm working on the review this morning, and hoping to finish it and post it before I go to work.

Perhaps they first want/need to concentrate on the European promotion and tour. Until this album the band hasn't had much promotion. Apparently the Mother Earth album has only recently been released in the UK, for instance.

In an interview Sharon den Adel said they may be promoting this record for years to come... I just can't imagine them only touring Europe all that time.

Jonny, if it is any consolation to you, last night Within Temptation played in Amsterdam and I missed their concert (didn't even know there was one, until it was sold out  ) Today's newspaper had a review from it. I'll translate it and post it in the concert reviews forum shortly. It seems to me it was a perfect concert that got a typical Dutch (imperfect, but funny) ending.

I just read the article. A rather amusing way to end a show. Can't trust them keyboardists.

Don't really have an AOTW this week...my pick is more like an 'Album of the Weak', meaning, the album isn't that great.

And that goes to The Gathering "Nighttime Birds." I like the singer, but the music is generic mid-tempo goth with little or no modern influences. Gathering fans have considered this album their best effort, but it's too boring for me to get into.

My AOW is Ayreon-The Human Equation.....got it back off a friend and it has been sorely missed. All those forum members that don't already own this masterpiece need to get themselves sorted out.

Do you know the Brazen Abbot albums? Especially Guilty As Sin? Sounds like they are derrived from the same sources...

My AOTW is an Opeth compilation... :D Next album I intend to buy will be Blackwater Park. I already knew that The Drapery Falls is an excellent song, and apparently there are more great songs on that album.

AOTW this week is Streets "Crimes In Mind." Kind of reminds me of Vandenberg mixed with a little Kansas.

Fuck Pantera - Anselmo can't even remotely sing.

This week - Animals - Pink Floyd.
Haven't listened to it for nearly two years, and when I did in it's entirety yesterday, it blew me away.

Kenny...at one stage Anselmo could sing...but chose not too. Pantera was all about the brothers anyway...the eddie and alex of metal.

Doggy...if you have any pre cowboys from hell cds you need to burn them and send them to me :D Its your duty.
