Now you know I would have to comment on this!!! After batting 1000 on your taste in music, you diss Meat Loaf of all people. Sorry Dean, but this comment deserves an ass kicking on many levels. First of all, has anyone even seen Meat Loaf lately? Long hair is gone, he's lost weight, he wears suits for goodness sake! Even if I put aside the way he looks since beauty's in the eye of the beholder, "not a real artist"? Over 60 million albums sold world wide and playing sold out areans all over US and UK, makes him a very real artist to millions. Thought you liked Meat Loaf too, what gives???

I like Meatloaf as well, drove to Cleveland to see his "Three bats" tour. Meatloaf couldn't write a song to save his life!!! I think that's what Dean is getting at.

When I said "all bands" and "atrocities" I was referring to those who made my ears bleed with their unintelligible guitar solos and lyrics, with the horrendous growls and burps that they called "singing".....yup, useless noise.

I don't get the whole Joey Belladonna = Steve Perry thing. If anything, he reminds me more of Steve WALSH, either that, or the singer in Styx who sings Renegade and Blue Collar Man. Not sure which one that one is, because I don't really listen to Styx all that much at all. Anyway, Joey would be a good singer if he wasn't as pitchy. As it is, though, he's alright. Just not in the same league as Steve Perry at all.

Geoff Tate, however... in his prime, I'd put him right up there with the best, along with Steve.

GT might not push himself on the albums much anymore, but definitely still has the prime voice live. At least did when I saw them a few months ago.

Can't STAND Linkin Park. Those guys are actually talented and its a real shame because the put out nothing but annoying CRAP.

Gotta say I would have said I couldn't stand Disturbed years ago, but their latest two albums are actually really good. Complete turnaround for them.

His latest album topped the charts, was lauded by critics, he sells out stadiums annually and is always near the top of various "Best (Whatever) Of All Time" lists... whether it be albums (Born to Run, Born in the USA, Nebraska, take your pick), songs (Born to Run, Jungleland, Badlands, Glory Days, etc.), or bands (E Street kicks ass)....

Sure he may not be the best technical singer ever but his songwriting, lyrics, and showmanship are unmatched by 99% of the music world.

You may not enjoy his music but you can't deny his talent and influence.
