Bit shocked at some of these L-

Tracy Chapman is the female black Springsteen.
Debbie Gibson..interesting. I thought she had some geat hooks in her pop hits. Plus she looks good. 8)
Meatloaf has a killer song in Dashboard, but yeah, dude is fat and not a real artist. Looks like Neil Young after he ate the Hamburglar and his entire family. Sweaty long haired homeless lookin motherfucker.

Now you know I would have to comment on this!!! After batting 1000 on your taste in music, you diss Meat Loaf of all people. Sorry Dean, but this comment deserves an ass kicking on many levels. First of all, has anyone even seen Meat Loaf lately? Long hair is gone, he's lost weight, he wears suits for goodness sake! Even if I put aside the way he looks since beauty's in the eye of the beholder, "not a real artist"? Over 60 million albums sold world wide and playing sold out areans all over US and UK, makes him a very real artist to millions. Thought you liked Meat Loaf too, what gives???

I like Meatloaf as well, drove to Cleveland to see his "Three bats" tour. Meatloaf couldn't write a song to save his life!!! I think that's what Dean is getting at.

Well if that's the case, Meat Loaf is supposed to be actually writing songs for the new album, so we'll see if Meat gains more credit for that.

I once liked Anthrax but only in small doses.
Queensryche is a whole different ballgame. They are art and they will never annoy me.

Tracy Chapman? Her music and voice is monotonous and boring to my ears. Sorry.

We were talking about what personally annoys us, right?

Yes, I was just commenting, dat's all. (I agree with you on the death metal/black metal stuff, tho'. Queensryche rules, too. I was just referring to their first EP, which is quite speed-metal-y. ((You know, "Queen of the REIIIIIIIICH!!")) )

Geoff Tate, however... in his prime, I'd put him right up there with the best, along with Steve. 8)

In his prime? In my opinion, GT is still kicking major vocal ass!!! Still in his prime, if you ask me.

Ehhhhhhh.... compare his voice to his voice in 1984-88, and it's NOWHERE near the same quality. Obviously age has a lot to do with it, but with some artists, their aged voice sounds great. GT.... to me, definitely not as much. Still listenable, but nowhere near as powerful and his tone just sort of irks me.

But I should get to the original point of the thread and list some bands that piss me off now.

Linkin Park
Disturbed
All mainstream auto-tuned pop crap
The Bee-Gees (My mom likes them... ughhhhh)

probably more, but I tend not to think of artists who bug me...

GT might not push himself on the albums much anymore, but definitely still has the prime voice live. At least did when I saw them a few months ago.

Can't STAND Linkin Park. Those guys are actually talented and its a real shame because the put out nothing but annoying CRAP.

Gotta say I would have said I couldn't stand Disturbed years ago, but their latest two albums are actually really good. Complete turnaround for them.

Sure you got that right?

Recheck your sources.

Bruce got his number, went to enlist, and failed his physical due to a leg injury caused by a motorcycle accident. Get your facts right before you shoot off your mouth.

Also, since you are 0 for 1, BITUSA is not about patriotism. Sorry, you're 0 for 2.

Ted Nugent, on the other hand, is blatantly patriotic and went to extreme measures to dodge the draft.

Bruce is a fucking icon.

His latest album topped the charts, was lauded by critics, he sells out stadiums annually and is always near the top of various "Best (Whatever) Of All Time" lists... whether it be albums (Born to Run, Born in the USA, Nebraska, take your pick), songs (Born to Run, Jungleland, Badlands, Glory Days, etc.), or bands (E Street kicks ass)....

Sure he may not be the best technical singer ever but his songwriting, lyrics, and showmanship are unmatched by 99% of the music world.

You may not enjoy his music but you can't deny his talent and influence.

Marilyn Manson's image and quotes and lifestyle certainly do annoy me and weird me out.

That said, is his music any good? I can honestly say I've never, ever listened to it.

Thanks Prog, but I love the way she started out lying about Bruce dodging the draft, and then went to the "has been" card, and then finally, "just her opinion." Why couldn't you just say that in the beginning? Why make up lies and degrade the guy, when it's obvious you are clueless about which you speak? The guy doesn't walk on water, but to call him a "has been?" Name me one artist right now who is bigger. Name one band that can outdraw E Street. You can't. Ok, so then plan C goes into play- "just my opinion." Sure, but while it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it no matter how wrong it is, please don't spew lies and falsities. Born in the USA is about being from a great place, but also questioning your country when needed. Bruce has always said, "Question authority, but do so in a respective manner." I love how Reagan used the song in 1980 for his campaign, when he was also clueless about what it meant. I love how the idiotic Teabaggers also used it last weekend for whatever kick they are now on. Fools.

Just caught this. You love Meatloaf but cannot tolerate Rod Stewart? Early Rod was classic. Hot Legs, You're in my Soul, Maggie May, You Wear it Well, Tonight's the Night, Every picture Tells the Story and so many more....Granted, late Rid blows, much like late Elton John.

B52's. They're a fun band and who doesn't like Love Shack blasting in the club at 1AM?

But this whole thread was started so we all participate in it with OUR opinions. Every single comment that I read in this thread has an invisible "in my opinion" at the beginning of it. I'm reminding myself that just to make sure that I don't get upset.haha

For example, someone posted in here a list with ALL my favorite current bands. I didn't even blink. Of course we could all defend our favorite band and rip a new one to those that don't love what we do, but that won't change a thing. It's fun, tho. Actually, I wanna finish this post and click submit quickly cuz I wanna see how the Springsteen Battle unfolds.

Ironic they would actually let him perform on a show with the name 'talent' in the title - what a goofball.
