You are NOT supposed to defrag every week, maybe once a month if even that. It shortens your HDD life.

Er, Macs can and do crash on occasion. There are also viruses, never say never, but a Windows user could also never get a virus just by having common sense. I'm just trying to be fair here, neither system is perfect and they both have advantages.
Jason said he already had a nice monitor. But even if you bought one with the $400 computer, it'd still come in way lower than $1200.

You have to have EXE files to get viruses, so thats pretty much a never. plus, the crash rate isnt nearly close to what Windows does.
And you would have to spend around $1200 to get a PC in the same class as the iMac (Processor, Memory, HD capacity, software, etc )
Will I give up using PC completely? no. But I think anyone that has a pc and ready to get a new pc, should at least try out a mac

True...I used to have a very OCD friend who would defrag a system, then defrag it again if he so much as deleted a couple of files. Ridiculous... I recommend defragging as little as twice a year, or on my own system, maybe once a year. How often you really need to depends on how dynamic your hard drive contents are. People that add/remove apps and data regularly will want to defrag a little more often.
