Spot on man. I had to look at a new "Florida Gators RULE!" thread seemingly every other day and had to hear about how Tim Tebow is the most perfect person since Jesus himself the entire season - and then when they finally lose a game, nobody can say anything about the game without being "classless." Not even make fun of anyone who's a Florida fan. Just simply discuss the game.

No you didn't...there was the NCAAF thread and this thread that had anything to do with the Gators and neither of them were even started by Tim so lay off....he'll be here when he's ready and he'll be ready to take on all of you Gator Haters....

I have always liked Tim. I just want that fucker to show up so he can take a good old fashioned verbal sports beatdown, as is privilege for sports fans. Plus, this is MR ...

This is the fun in sports... I used to love trashing my buddies about the Steelers and havin them rib me back for the awfulness that is the Browns. It's all in good fun, even for diehards

I lived in Cleveland the year the Browns were good! You probably don't remember that year though

Don't worry, he'll be back....and I would dare say that the fact that he hasn't been on here has more to do with the fact that he has a fulfilling and satisfying life than it does with the fact that the Gators lost a very important football game. Now, don't get me wrong, he took it hard for sure, but when have you ever known Gator to back down from a good beatdown?????

Yes, we did. There was a new one every day until Andrew told him to stop it.

And that's exactly the issue at hand. Why does it have to be a "take on the Gator haters" situation? It's a sporting event. I'm not challenging his fanhood. He's clearly a passionate fan.

I certainly don't hate the Florida Gator football team. I hate obnoxious "fans" like you who view every potential slight as a personal insult. It's what makes me glad to see teams like Florida lose. The Florida fans I know, and I know more than just a few, are classless. Can't handle losing, and have to make sure everyone knows they're winning.

I wouldn't start rampaging if people made fun of my Illinois Fighting Illini, who finished 3-9 two years after going to a Rose Bowl and have had four losing seasons in the last five years under Ron Zook. I know they suck. It's ridiculous.

Are you talkin about the Kardiac Kids of 1980? Or my guess is the year of The Fumble... when Ernest Byner fumbled in 1988 AFC championship while en route to tying the game? I think that would about put you in school then, right?

I don't see it as a personal insult at all....I just have a problem with the Tebow bashing-bash the team, not Tebow and his personal life-it has no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Well, we had some good years after that, but there are things in Cleveland sports lore that every Cleveland sports fan knows initimately, even if they weren't alive or too young to remember, such as:

The Drive
The Fumble
The "Shot" (Michael Jordan)
Red Right 88 (1980 Kardiac Kid Browns)
The Choke (08-09 Cavs) -> Caveat: Not yet granted eternal lore status, but it certainly will be, especially if LeBron leaves this coming year
The Choke/Jose Mesa Game 7 (97 Indians World Series -> 2 outs away)
The Choke (07 Indians -> 3-1 up on Red Sox in ALCS)
The Trade (could apply to many trades -> Ex: Ron Harper for Danny Ferry)
The Move (Browns to Baltimore)

* This list is not intended to be exhaustive ;)

Good, subtle point.
I remember after my last game played (and it was a WIN) I could feel it coming so I just keep the helmet on and it didn't hit until the bus ride so I kept it on in there (so nobody could see my silly blubbering :) ).

I wasnt going to post anything BUt I am a huge gator fan and they got their butts kicked thoroughly sat night. Kudos to Bama as they came to play with a purpose and fla looked like it was going to be a cake walk. I was scared of this last week cause they clearly hadnt played many games versus great teams this year Ill admit i was proud of the way they handled LSU in baton Rouge at night but they could have easily lost a couple of the close games they didnt lose.

I expect Bama be natl champs this year and give us hell next year esp if ingram and mcelroy come back. we will be a much different team next without TIm and the 22 players expected to be gone srs or the jrs expected to declare for the draft.

Let the flaming begin

You forgot "The Comeback" as we Steelers fans called it. 2002, AFC Wild Card game, Browns up 17 in the 4th. The Brownies basically 2009 Steeler'ed it and blew it ALL, one of the most memorable games to which I was in the house. I experienced the best game and the worst of that year (worst being beat by Houston when Tommy Maddox literally handed the Texans 21 points while the defense held them to 50 total yards of offense. We lost by 3.) We went on to lose a heart breaker in the Divisional Round when Joe Nedney "acted" his way into running into the kicker against the Titans.

This thread is pure GOLD. I missed this entire thread because I sat in the DEAD ASS COLD for 10 hours and couldn't feel my toes and watched my Pittsburgh Steelers blow another 4th quarter, piss poor lead right in front of me to the Oakland fucking Raiders! Come on Gator, where the hell you at, son? Don't let chicks do the talking for you! If you can't handle the parade, don't headline it!

* Side Note: I absolutely LOVED Tebow and the Gators get the absolute SHIT kicked out of them. A long time coming and I'm glad I don't have to witness Tim Tebow dying for our sins anymore.

Don't bet the house on Bama. Texas can beat them. Parity is all around college football right now. I would love to see Bama get beat and all the other undefeated teams win their games, leaving Bama and Florida out of the top 5.

As for Florida, who cares to talk about them anyway? They are not the least bit relevant in the BCS. I would love to see them get run over too in their bowl game, but I am sure Tim Teebow will give the speech about how no other team will work as hard as UF, play as hard as UF and cry as hard as UF. I lost a lot of respect for the guy after the game when he pulled his crap, but as I said, who wants to talk about UF anyways, unless Urban Meyer says he is South Bend bound. That would be hilarious.

Gator-

Listen. No one hates Teebow. I bet everyone here respects him as a human being. That being said. his actions(not the weeping), after the game was bullshit. Not shaking hands in college football is wrong, especially college football. There is a parallel here with you. You ran your smack and you lost. I am willing to also bet most people here like you too(I know I do). Come in and take your lumps, show some balls. Show some humility. You will be respected if you do, but having your girls speak for you just doesn't look good. I like you a bunch dude, for your passion and love of the University, but come on man, get in here and face the music. Don't pull a Teebow and not shake hands. You lost a football game dude. No one died. It's going to be ok.

Hey Deano

IM not betting the house on Bama but from what I have seen Bama's Def is whole lot better then Nebraska( even though hadnt seen much of it till sat night) and thats why im chosing bama to win it all this year.
I think the only 2 significant games are bama texas and the fiesta with TCU and boise ( due to the fact both from NON BCS leagues ) and possibly how cinn responds if kelly take ND job prior to sugar.

I agree with Deano, I cant let my disappointment continue to devour my freakin life. Congrats to Alabama, you clearly wanted it more than we did. Im still not sure why Florida forgot to bring the defense to Atlanta with them. At this point we find out what we're made of. We can either pull off a Bama from last season and let our SEC failure cause us to lose to an obviously lesser opponent(Utah) or knock the dust off and put the helmets back on-hopefully the damn orange ones, not those cursed white ones-and go out and remind everyone why we were #1 all season and beat Cinncinnati. In the meantime..........

It's what makes me glad to see teams like Florida lose. The Florida fans I know, and I know more than just a few, are classless. Can't handle losing, and have to make sure everyone knows they're winning.

I don't see it as a personal insult at all....I just have a problem with the Tebow bashing-bash the team, not Tebow and his personal life-it has no bearing on the outcome of the game.

sure we can bash TEBOW...just like bashing tiger now... and Favre after a loss... thats whats great about sports...

we have also bashed each other in here from time to time...and none of us has cried...... and lost too much sleep over it... have we???

LOL love Gator's "congratulations" post to 'Bama that includes not a scintlilla of actual credit to The Tide for dropping a beatdown on FL.

All about what FL didn't do (as opposed to what they COULDN'T do AGAINST the other team), and the old "wanted it more."
Then, incredibly, shots at LAST year's 'Bama team in an effort to prop up this year's team should they win the bowl game and then the all-emcompassing "'bama, Florida it's STILL the SEC that will win" stuff. That AFTER downplaying their victory in the SEC title game, and the mind boggles.
