General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

Simply keeping it fair and balanced, I'm just a regular Shepard Smith.

I see people dropping Parfait's name into threads more and more simply to bait him into responding. If people want to play that, I'm cool with that but at the same time that gives me Carte blanche for some bashing myself, right?

To be fair, he brings that on by his own actions. He's probably called everyone in here weak, fat, ignorant, ugly, poor, etc... When you act like Vanity Smurf with a Holier than thou attitude, you're gonna ruffle feathers and piss people off. Just saying.

It's all Parfait's fault.

Kermit is great! Keep on truckin' Parfait; flatten 'em all, one holy roller at a time!

Not saying I'm better than anyone here (well except maybe you Don! ). I'm not a holy roller. I just happen to believe that we were created by God Almighty. I believe he put this earth here for us and created us in his image. If you want to believe that we were planted here by aliens, or that we just appeared after some giant explosion and evolved from nothing, that's your choice to make. I just believe in God.

I could go on and on for hours, but it's not going to change your minds. You have your belief and I have mine. If I'm wrong, when I die nothing happens and I just fade from existence. If you're wrong... eternity in hell sure sounds like a pretty bad time.

Now as far as funny or epic previous posts... I'd like to hear some of the classics. Anyone else have some threads to share? :D

I just explained a few posts earlier that the big bang is not a big explosion and explained that evolution of life has nothing whatsoever to do with the big bang. No wonder you people are so assfuckingly stupid - you can't read.

"God made the earth for us." Yeah, he made a universe filled with trillions of planet, but decided to make this one inhabited by humans. 925 millions which are living in hunger. 1 billion people lives in extreme poverty. But hey, at least you're not going to hell! The egocentricity is just astounding.

Here's another fun evolutionary fact: In 1971, scientists transplanted five adult pairs of the reptiles from their original island home in Pod Kopiste to the tiny neighboring island of Pod Mrcaru, both in the south Adriatic Sea. The new species wiped out the indigenous lizard populations. Pod Mrcaru, for example, had an abundance of plants for the primarily insect-eating lizards to munch on. Physically, however, the lizards were not built to digest a vegetarian diet.

Researchers found that the lizards developed cecal valves—muscles between the large and small intestine—that slowed down food digestion in fermenting chambers, which allowed their bodies to process the vegetation's cellulose into volatile fatty acids. Along with the ability to digest plants came the ability to bite harder, powered by a head that had grown longer and wider.

Yeah, that's true. This site does does have a lot of inferiority minded members who get in an uproar when ever something is mentioned thay they may relate to, whether it's obesity or some long haired fuck who got himself pinned to cross. So sensitive we've all become. Shit maybe we all need to revisit the PC thread that was started a few days ago. Where's the outrage over some of the things said there?

We might have to create another evolution thread again. That's always good for site traffic if nothing else.

And Man is supposedly God made. So, if you're this all mighty being, why create shit that's defective. And if you did create something as faulty as man is just so you could abuse and threaten him for not being perfect, wel that would simply make you the universe's biggest asshole if nothing else.

I don't look at it as baiting....although I suppose 'baiting' is the extreme. I look at it as someone trying to coax actual thought and intelligent discussion/debate rather than relating that one heard the second pre-chorus of DSB on last night's episode of Gossip Girl, or some other banal show - for the zillionth time....

I don't care to bait him, or anything else. I just thought his losing his cool that one time was funny. As for the whole evolution thing, that was not even what I was pointing out. He started that mess again.

But broken records skip and play over and over and over...........

Don I know your a big fan of Parfait, but my issue with him is not his intelligence, (though most of his is due to cut and paste, or paraphrasing  ), but more with his attitude.

I have never had a problem with anyone not believing in God. I have many atheist friends, and amazingly enough we can be quite peaceable about the whole thing.

How is it that militant atheist are as much a pain in the butt as a Westborough Baptist Group? Because of their incessant need to cram their beliefs down everyone's throat.

Anyway, to help GI I am going to look for a post that is much more interesting and less useless, like one of Deano's great tangents.

Never suggested such a thing. Read my post over again. What I said was that the egocentricity of it all is astounding. Don't even get how you can get that shit out of my last post.

Love how you "failed" to answer the last portion of my post, and instead managed to misinterpret it all. How the big bang is not a explosion, the difference between a colloquial theory and a scientific one, transitional bones and the list goes on and on about the things that continuously gets overlooked by the bible literalists.

By the way; I've never called anyone poor in here, GI Bitch. Ginger, I'm very happy that you're teaching kids how to draw sailboats and making pictures out of macaroni, and not subjects that requires even the tiniest speck of intelligence - for the kid's sake.

So your basically saying that artists are stupid? Leonardo Da Vinci was stupid? Art History requires no knowledge? Linear Perspective is easy? One requires no knowledge to teach drawing, painting, pottery, printmaking, clothing design, graphics design, pyrography, wood carving, color theory, furniture design, architecture, intaglio printing, mosaics, weaving, etc?

We just teach all this and more with no skill or knowledge at all. I had 6 and 1/2 years of college learning nothing. Well I guess you should give up wearing clothes, having a nice home, having furniture, having anything, because some idiot like me with not a speck of intelligence had to design all that for your worthless sorry thankless self.

My knowledge is not cut and paste either. I had to take classes and actually learn how to do all those things. Not to mention I can draw and paint around your worthless self.

I never compared myself to Da Vinci, but I teach the same principles he taught. I guarantee you don't know them to the same extent as I do. Can you draw in three point perspective? I am sure you couldn't. But I have to teach it.

For the ignorance of those who give no value to art and art teachers............

The Importance of Arts Education

The arts are essential to every child's education, which is why the arts are one of the core academic subjects in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). Some schools, facing tight local budgets, are cutting arts programs and blaming the cuts on NCLB. In a letter to state and local superintendents, Secretary of Education Rod Paige said that cutting arts is "disturbing and just plain wrong."

Similar to English, math, science and the other core subjects, the arts (dance, music, theater, and visual arts) are challenging subjects with rigorous content and achievement standards at the state and national levels. They require highly qualified teachers who challenge all students, not just those who are considered artistically talented, to perform works of art, create their own works, and respond to works of art and the ideas they impart.

In addition to studying the arts for their own sake, experiencing and making works of art benefits students in their intellectual, personal, and social development, and can be particularly beneficial for students from economically disadvantaged circumstances and those who are at risk of not succeeding in school. Research studies point to strong relationships between learning in the arts and fundamental cognitive skills and capacities used to master other core subjects, including reading, writing, and mathematics.

That voluntary vow is tied into the concept of humility. There's a difference.

The other kind of poverty is the kind Man could do something about, but can't/won't. Why is the Royal Saudi family so loaded the young kids blow $5K here and there the way you or I pump $20 of ga$ into the tank, but the common people are practically licking the dirt?

Why is California's legislature crying"poo' mouth" all the time? Why are Dems and Repubs continually blaming each other for the sad shape the nation's once-best state (and formerly fifth/sixth/seventh/eighth largest economy in the world) is in, when one party just lines it pockets with money from the unions and the other party lines its pockets with money from everywhere else, and the citizens just get bent over?

That's not God doing that. BIG difference.
