Aren't they building a new, outdoor, football stadium in Minnesota? That would be fucking AWESOME! I've been an NFL fan as long as I can remember and have ALWAYS despised domes. It's another reason that I'll always rank QB's in lousy weather cities over guys who play in warm weather cities or domes. Weather is a HUGE part of football. I still remember the crazy ass "Fog Bowl". I think it was the Bears against the Eagles. Couldn't see a damn thing on the TV, but was somehow amazing to watch. Give me a football game in a blizzard over a game in a dome 100 out of 100 times!

Yeah finally they are, but its going to take a few years for the Vikes to grow back the big balls that came with playing at home in the snow and sub zero wind chills !

That's good news. If that Metrodome collapses one more time....

Aww...the Met collapsing was one of the highlights of the '10 season. LOL

It's usually some assbag from Southern, CA, Florida, or another place that is only used to seeing ice in their drinks who waxes poetic about how "majestic" or "pretty" snow is. It's never a dude from Minnesota! These fuckers would feel a whole lot differently if they had to live through the snow that I deal with every winter. There is nothing remotely majestic about sliding down the road sideways...into a tree

Agreed. Going on my 4th winter here in MN and it's not something I think I'll ever get used to. Bitter cold is bitter cold, I don't care how thick the blood. Snow is fun to look at from the window. The other day it took me 2 hours to go 18 miles because of the stupid ice on the roads. Reminded me of my commutes in California. :)

I made the mistake of buying a rear-wheel drive. So I often hit every point on the compass when making a basic left turn.

But still a Niners fan. Screw the Vikings. They beat this year. Bastards.

   The wintery weather we get here is usually in the form of freezing rain, so I've had to deal with that also. I just deal with it from a lot less experience than you poor folks up there.

Exactly the way I feel. Snow is pretty to look at from the window and in pictures. When you have to live/drive in it, it's awful. Being from California, I never learned how to drive on snow. It doesn't get as bad here in Reno NV as in midwest or parts of the NE, but the first few slick winters, I wrecked my car slipping and sliding on the road. Then, there's the term "black ice." What's that???
Something about "easing" into the brake...can't just step on the brake like you normally do. Going into our 22nd yr here now, I still fret over having to deal with a snow forecast.

Back to the MT Rushmore of players:

My previous post regarding Jason Witten might have been in haste. Am not a Cowboys follower...I have no idea whether Jason was better or worse than Billy Joe Dupree. For sure, the best-known (cream of the crop) Cowboys are RStaubach, RWhite, ESmith, and (I believe) TDorsett slight edge over MIrvin.

Also, the previous picks on my basketball Warriors: I think I left out WChamberlain by mistake, because I was thinking he didn't play in SF (Philly straight to the Lakers), but I don't think that's right. So, he should be in there instead of Al Attles (who only got consideration based on his team stature).

Hey, this is fun!

Come on now. You're supposed to call it African American Ice

By the way, black ice, is exactly what it sounds like. It's a glaze of ice on the black asphalt road that you can't see. You think the roads are just wet, but realize (usually too late) that they look wet but it's a big sheet of ice. Not exactly ideal driving conditions. As someone who grew up in the Boston area, I've learned that when the weather is awful, I simply don't leave my house. If it's a work day, I'll work from home. If not, I'll relax in front of the fireplace. Nothing is that important to me that I need to be out in the middle of a crazy ass storm.

Not much different this year, dude. I know you're a Flacco fan. I'm not. Dude flat out sucks donkey balls, and no team is winning with that dude at the helm. The difference for the Ravens is that their current defense simply isn't that good to overcome a lousy QB. The only offensive player on that team who is much better than average is Ray Rice.
