Hi, here's a story that i heard on a Montreal radio station. The singer jonas (http://www.jonas-music.com/home_en.html) did a couple of shows as a first part of Van Halen last year. A rumor says that it was probably a "disguise audition" for Jonas to become the next lead singer for Van Halen... I don't know on what it's based on but that's what the guy said.

If VH has another singer, it won't be a Mitch Malloy or Jonas. It will be a name.

I wouldn't have thought they'd go the 'name' route again, after the Cherone thing fell on it's ass.
maybe they might do what they talked about before Hagar joined, which was do an album with guest singers.
At this point, it might not be a bad idea.....

There are names out there....Kevin Chafant, and Steve perry.....You don't want Perry. He is awesomely talented, but is fucked up as Eddie... No way.

I don't see any control freak on stage singing with the brothers. It is going to have to be somebody that needs the brothers in his mind.

Perry isn't a good match musically. I didn't think that Mitch Malloy was any better. Both scream 80's.

Um, Steve Perry is not an alcoholic. Perry is 56 years old and seems to be finished with the rock music scene. Just because he isn't with Journey anymore is no reason to call him "as fucked up as Eddie". Let him go, Deano. He's done, sad as that is.

Unless they can find someone as charismatic as Roth and a voice to make your toes curl (in a good way), they should just call it a career, IMO.
