Hi there. Here's some great songs that I haven't heard in a while from Van Halen when David Lee Roth was the lead singer. Wow, the following songs are so great that I could listen to them 20 times in a row and enjoy them as if I heard them only once.
Just listened to the following Van Halen gems!
Van Halen
1. Eruption
2. I'm The One
3. The Atomic Punk
Van Halen II
1. Spanish Fly
2. Woman In Love
Women and Children First
1. Everybody Wants Some
2. Fools
3. In A Simple Rhyme
Fair Warning
1. Sunday Afternoon In The Park
Diver Down
1. Intruder
2. Little Guitars (Intro)
3. Little Guitars

I have always LOVED that song, but I wouldn't say it is the best DLRVH track.

Yo 28. To me, it's one of those songs that each era has. Something totally stunning, amazing, different, off the wall, crazy good.
Dave: I'll Wait
Sammy: Finish What Ya Started
Gary: Dirty Water Dog
To those reading, I'd recommend you take Andrew's advice of a few weeks back and try to police the board ourselves as best we can and ignore if you're unable to fight fire withj intelligent fire. PMing him about another poster (why? why are we doing that?) seems to be no longer an option.

I listened to OU812 over the weekend. Haven't listened to it in a while. I think that is a great CD. Mine All Mine is, IMO, the best song with Sammy. Inspired stuff.
REALLY hard to pick a song from the Dave era, too many GREAT songs. But for some reason, I have always loved Girl Gone Bad.

True, side 1 has the hits, side 2 has the true rockers.
God, we're old. Side 1 and side 2? LOL

Desptie the Advent of cds, certain albums like that and say the Stones' Tattoo You were CLEARLY created with the different sides in mind. Side 2 of Tattoo You totally has a cult following. Who the hell else in here is a STONES head? ???? come on, man.

I do not like the Stones, but I see what you mean. Journey Frontiers has two very different sides. I have a CD by Giuffria called Silk and Steel. The Silk side is basically power ballads, and the Steel side is the rockers. Great CD. Like a hard rock Journey.

I love "sides". It is easier to track, the vibe is easier to keep. But I also love not having to flip over a CD...
Besides, mounting my record player in my car was a bitch!!

It always felt like you had got more with the vinyl.
Still listen to loads of vinyl at home, but a lot of it is getting a little tired now.
NIG- Silk and Steel is a great album. Have you got the first Guiffria album that's good too.
VH with Dave I always had a soft spot for Unchained. Sammy harder to pick I love Sammy. Finish What You Started, great video too.

Would love to see Van Halen in concert with David Lee Roth and have them just play the material from 1978 to 1984.

Hi Kenny,
I just like the Van Halen material with David Lee Roth. I know many Van Halen fans like both singers. However, I never got into Sammy Hager with Van Halen. Have no idea why Gary Cherrone was selected as their third lead singer.

Yeah I'm in the 'like both' camp.....I thought Cherone was an odd fit too.

I wish Van Halen could just play like they have in the past. They were great. I was surprised when I heard the Cherone was the lead singer.
Did you hear the rumor when Patti Smyth of Scandal was supposed to be the lead singer of Van Halen?
Do you know how to add and keep a picture at the bottom? Look at the top of this thread, and I have a picture of the Rolling Stones. Yet, I can't get it to stay in all of my posts unless I manually add it.
Thanks,

I think for the longest time, up until last tour Sam refused to do any Dave material except Jump, Panama, and You Really Got Me. That's kind of tool maneuver in its own right. Then he conceded and did Unchained last tour but still let audience members sing Jump. Hagar's ego ain't exactly a molehill compared to Dave's mountain.

Heh! Keith Richards has been dead for the last 15 years... only he doesn't know it yet!
I also remember about Patti Symth being lulled over as a possible replacement for Diamond Dave. If anything, she was at the top of list for Eddie's legendary MULTI-VOCALISTS idea. Do you know what I'm saying? Remember he wanted to write a whole album and collaborate with different vocalists?

Yeah the multi vocalists thing is the only time I have ever heard Patti Smyth's name mentioned.....along with Jimmy barnes and a few others.
JT I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about with this picture at the bottom thing - I can't see any picture of the Rolling Stones!!

Sam did 'Jump' and 'Panama' right from the outset.....I guess there was a need to move on to a certain extent.
That was one positive with Cherone - we got to hear all the tunes live.
