What is your favorite Bon Jovi Song?

Mine is Bed Of Roses. "Bottle of vodka still lodged in my head"

Tough one. I have to say Runaway b/c Aldo Nova is the guitar player on that one. But then, that wouldn't be Bon Jovi, would it? I am a HUGE Aldo Nova fan and I know they are good buddies.

I guess, other than Runaway, I would say Only Lonely.

Subject, even though people say that is his worst. It is the first one I bought, even though I really liked the song Fantasy from his first one. Twitch is not bad, but I can NOT get into Nova's Dream. Can you?

NAh can't get into Nova's Dream. Could never really get into Subject overly though.

Love Twitch. Great tracks and some fantastic background vocasl courtesy of Michael Bolton. Also Really liked Blood on the Bricks, although it was V. Bon Jovi.

Have you ever seen Aldo live? I saw him twice, once in a bar and once outside during the afternoon for a radio station promotion, both during Blood on the Bricks tour. I would loved to have seen him on the first or second album's tour, I wonder if there are any boots of Aldo out there...?

I have heard that Nova's Dream is a tough CD to "get". But I have "Twitch" on vinyl (won it from a radio station) and I have never really gotten into it either. I loved the singles from Blood On The Bricks and it was hard to get away from Subject but I guess Aldo didn't do much for me...

I've got them all on CD. Let me know if you guys want me to burn you a copy of any of them, or send you the files over the internet somehow.

Dave, you think Nova's Dream is hard to get on CD? Try getting Subject. VERY hard to find! My nephew found it for me somewhere and gave it to me as a birthday gift. I treasure it!

Do you guys have the new one? Two songs jump out at me - Last Cigarette and Last Man Standing. The lyrics to Last Man Standing are great - check 'em out:

Come see a living, breathing spectacle
Only seen right here
It’s your last chance in this lifetime
You won’t believe your eyes
The line forms to the rear
Get your money out, get ready
Your eyes will not believe your ears
Step right up, yeah you, come here
You ain’t seen nothing like him

The last one of the breed
You better hold on to your honey
Honeys, don’t forget to breathe
Enter at your own risk, mister
It might change the way you think
There’s no dancers, there’s no diamonds

No this boy he don’t lip synch
Step right up, he’s the real thing.
Here’s the last man standing.
The last chance of a lifetime.

Come and see, hear, feel, the real thing.
See those real live calloused fingers
Wrapped around those guitar strings
The songs were more than music
It breaks the heart to hear him sing
They were pictures from the soul
So keep your pseudo-punk, hip-hop, pop-rock junk
And your digital downloads
Here’s the last man standing.

Step right up, he’s the real thing.
The last chance of a lifetime.
Come and see, hear, feel, the real thing.

Take your seats now, folks. It’s show time.
Hey, Patrick hit the lights
There’s something in the air
There’s magic in the night
Now here’s the band, they really play
I’ll count the first one in
We all know where it’s been
I don’t know where it’s going

Here’s the last man standing.
Step right up, he’s the real thing.
The last chance of a lifetime.
Come and see, hear, feel, the real thing.

Here’s the last man standing.
Step right up, he’s the real thing.
The last chance of a lifetime.
The last chance of a lifetime
Come and see, hear, feel, the real thing.

Come and see, hear, feel, the real thing

Angie, I know it is frightening, but we have VERY similar musical tastes...

I LOVE ALDO! I have all of his CDs. Which one is your favorite? I love Subject the most.

It's so hard to say, his debut is close to my heart because I was like 12 at the time and I played that album night and day. I'm serious...I know EVERY drum beat and bang of that album. I love Subject and Fallen Angel off Twitch. I could never get into Blood on the Bricks, but I think Nova's Dream is rather interesting. If you understand his influences it makes a little more sense, but just a little! Aldo has always fascinated me because he is so elusive and private and his albums are released with so little fanfare. When I talk to people about him they are dumbfounded to realize he has more than one album! I wish he would leave Celine Dion alone and put out another studio album..or better yet, like you mentioned a bootleg or live album.

This is all so bizarre. My rock quiz this morning on my show was "Bon Jovi had some help from Aldo Nova on the Blaze of Glory soundtrack from what movie?" Then I come here and see these threads...it's a little creepy! lol

Didn't Aldo play the solo, or all of the guitar, on BJ's Runaway? That's what I heard... ?

I also heard that Aldo swept floors in a recording studio just to have access to recording equipment. Then late at night he recorded his whole first album, playing all of the instruments. Have you heard this, Angie?

This is the first I have heard about Aldo playing on Bon Jovi's Runaway, but I've heard the same of his first album. That entire first album is him allll him. Amazing. He's an incredibly underated musician, but it seems like that is self inflicted.

And you have GOT to check this out, too. It was posted in the Toto and Journey forums. Friggin' hilarious.

Wow...that was cool. A few things I didn't know. I just think he is cool as shit. I really wish he would put something new together or get a website going or something. I had to laugh at the picture though! Thanks for posting that!

I can't see the other thing. I tried it the other day but I don't have quicktime. I'll have to figure out how to see it.

No, I never did. I was too young during the early years and I don't remember him coming around here for Blood on the Bricks, although I was in my own little world then! lol! That would have been a dream concert!

Mine is Lay Your Hands On Me - just because I remember Milton Keynes Bowl, 1996, me and about 10 mates all standing in a line doing some really daft actions!!! Everyone around us had fits of laughter and I always think of it when I hear the song!!!

Wanted Dead or Alive - "On a steel horse I ride" - ahh, those were the days!!!!

:P
