If Van Halen and David Lee Roth never stopped playing as a band? I wonder what their additional legacy would have been. Big mistake by Roth for putting out a solo full album. Wish they never broke up. :(

Would love to have seen Van Halen in 1986 if David Lee Roth was the lead singer. I miss the Real Van Halen so much!!!

Did you have good seats, Joe? I saw Van Halen with Hager. They were ok. Nothing special.

I like the Van Halen material with David Lee Roth much better.

roth styaing in vh is just not even an option . It is unimaginable. it was inevitable that they broke up.. Instead of wishing htey had never s;lit up you should be THANKING YOUR LUCKY STARS that they managed to stay together for as long ast hey did ..SIX ALBUMS..THey were not a great match personality wise..They only had Dave in the band in the first place so they would not have to pay him to rent his PA .. It was a marriage of convenience that as a byprodduct managed to turn out some amazing ROCK AND ROLL, but it is OVER !!!!! Sorry .. ilvoe classic VH too , but ED and DAve hate each other

JourneyTroll - what a fucking ridiculous signature. I'm removing that grossly oversized picture right now and see to it you don't add any more.

What about the grossly oversized opinion of himself??
Actually I seriously wonder what more material would have sounded like - '1984' is about my fave VH album, it would have been beyond interesting to hear what they cam up with next.
A hybrid of 'Eat 'em and smile' and '5150'?? Too cool.

Yeah, Kenny. Didn't Dave say that most of 5150 was written while he was in the band? Do you prefer 5150 or EEAS? I have to say I lik EEAS better.

5150 or EEAS? Don't ask a person to make that choice! Too difficult! :D

Seriously, I never thought of what combining the two might sound like, and as it rolls around in my head, I like what I'm imagining! 8)

I wasn't crazy about any of Dave's other solo work, although I admit I didn't give it much of a chance! I assume it is widely regarded that EEAS is his best solo work? Anything else close?

Ever so slightly 5150 for me. Only just though.

'Skyscraper' is pretty damn good.....though the production lets it down a little for me.....I actually think it is more consistent than EEAS, without the highlights.

Steve Vai on 'EEAS'... Freakin' alien love rock with passion and sex and warfare and religion on an album on steroids!

... but 5150 is more "listenable". 8)

If you took "i'm Easy" and "That's Life" off EEAS and put two more rockin songs on it then i'd dig it as much as 5150.

Speaking of EEAS....someone sent me this.

Hey, what do you guys think of the DLR Band's self-titled 1998 effort?
I think it is Dave's best solo album.

E.A.S. 5150

I think 5150 kicks alot of ass. Steves lead work pretty much smokes Edwards, but everything else is Eddies. Sammys best vocals are on 5150 too. Dave does what he does, rocks.
