I have always had big sympathy for Ron Keel because he had to struggle all of his career with disregarding of press. I think it all began from all the badmouthing his old bandmate Yngwie Malmsteen did in press. All I can say Yngwie is incredibly ungrateful bastard to call untalented the guy who gave him his first opportunity in US. Ok, he had a right to not like Keel“s music but I don`t think that was very nice way to pay back for a guy who made him a big favour.

Ron is a pretty good guy and I think Keel just got lost in the shuffle of all the bands that came out then. He contributes a few articles a year to the one magazine I write for - Rhythm, Art, and Groove.

The thing about Keel was they were so talented and had a different sound than the rest of the LA bands.

Black n Blue's "Without Love" cd is one of the most under-rated discs of all time imo. They should have been huge after that. Sadly, I didn't think their followups were quite as good.
MASI, Hawaii, Warrior

Downtown Dreamers is classic 80s. Fire in the Rain is available on iTunes as well as Warrior - Fighting for the Earth.

Alleycat Scratch
Dirty Looks

Right on, to Little Caesar! Awesome band...I liked Kings of the Sun, too, from that era.

Thanks to Metal Mania on VH-1 Classic (although, I wish they would show different videos every week), I have to say I liked Keel. I was into other bands in the 80's, so they kind of fell through the cracks for me. Is Ron still doing country music?
