ok. Not exactly, but here is a trivia item about Eddie collaborating with the Sabs that I never knew..YOur thoughts..:
Eddie Van Halen's Involvement With Black Sabbath On The Song "Evil Eye":

Recently at Iommi, I was asked this question, "Is it true that the last song off of 1994's Cross Purposes album "Evil Eye" was co-written by Eddie Van Halen & did he actually play a solo on it as well?" Actually I've gotten this one a lot, and here's what I said:

According to legend, Eddie Van Halen & Tony Iommi were interested in working together. As a team, Eddie & Tony came up with a riff that eventually became the one for "Evil Eye". Months later, when principal recording was happening for Cross Purposes, Eddie Van Halen was supposed to come down to the studio and & record either the opening or second lead solo for the song as a guest musician (like the guitar solo Brian May did for "When Death Calls" off of 1989's Headless Cross album). However, as it's always been noted, scheduling conflicts came about for Eddie Van Halen and he couldn't come down to the studio to do the solo, and Iommi ended up doing both of them. But as far as we all Sabbath experts have known, Eddie did come up with part of the idea for the riff with Tony and received a special thank you in the liner notes of the album, but never played or got a song writing credit for the song.

However......

Because of this new tell-all book Black Sabbath-Never Say Die, someone brought to my attention this point brought within its pages:

".....according to the book, Eddie Van Halen did go into the studio! Tony Martin and Geoff Nicholls both say he was there. Tony Iommi picked him up from the Birmingham NEC in his car and took him to the studio. When Tony Martin got there EVH was there-playing guitar! Martin says he played on the track, Nicholls says something about leaving it a mystery. Probably a legal thing just like Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne not being credited on the Quartz album that is featured earlier in the book...."

I'd never heard of this story, but it sounds interesting. Trying to think what Eddie might've been doing around 1993-94... touring, writing new music, working toward a new album. Hmm... the good ol' days!
