Eddie debuts new music

Eddie Van Halen was the star at a private party in West Hollywood on Wednesday night (July 19th). Van Halen, wearing torn jeans and without a shirt, performed with keyboardist Patrick Leonard, who has worked with Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart, and Madonna, and drummer Aaron Sterling, whose resume includes Carly Simon and Al Jarreau. According to people at the event, Van Halen debuted a lot of the music he's been working on in his studio. The party was held at the high end floral shop the House Of Petals. At another bash last week, owner Joey House got the idea to have Van Halen and some friends come out and play, and she offered the yard at her store for the occasion.
A spokesperson said that Van Halen and House are very close friends, but denied that House is Van Halen's girlfriend.
It's the second time in about a month that Eddie Van Halen has performed in public. He and his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, played "Jump" and "You Really Got Me" during a surprise appearance with country star Kenny Chesney on June 17th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Thanks, Angie. Glad to hear he is going out in public, AND playing new music! Sounds kind of surreal, though... a party in a flower shop with a shirtless Eddie jamming new tunes.

Why the different drummer?
There is no mention of what kind of music they were playing, but if you are using a keyboard player from Madonna and Rod Stewart and the Drummer from Carly Simon and Al Jarreau, I don't think it was "rock"...

According to Eddie, the lawyers make it impossible.

Too many more years and he'll be challenging Keith Richards' place in the dictionary next to the entry for "death".

Yikes! That was horrible. Reminds me of the scene in "This is Spinal Tap" where they decide to play "Jazz Odyssey".

Did anyone see the post about Ed actually autographing and drinking Jamba Juice at the VHND headlines? They said he looked great, just a little haggard.

All I can say about that vid is: At least he's being creative again, but so far everything he's done just sucks. That one he did for the porno flick was ok at first, but someone needs to take that sustainer away from him. He's overused it since the Twister soundtrack.
Here's something else: why isn't he playing his new Charvels? So far all he's been seen with is Frankenstein and the Wolfgangs.
