My review is....good. I like the modern sound with plenty of guitar. I did not hear SFTD so I cannot compare. But I am enjoying this one quite a bit.

I just listened to the entire CD and this is the first time I feel completely dissapointed with a new Europe release.

Dont' get me wrong, I am a big Europe fan ever since their first selftitled debut album. I have always enjoyed every single release from this amzing band.
However with Secret Socitey it feels like they were too concerned about changing directions that they forgot to write some STRONG songs.
Maybe it wil grow on me, I will let you know, but so far I dont think this cd has enough power to put Europe back on tha map of fame.

Start From The Dark had more potentials in my opinion, but poor promotion stopped it from becoming a big seller.
Lets hope at least this time around Europe gets the right promo for this one, cause it sure needs it

peace

It's a grower. Some very melodic moments sounding like their 80's era but only moments not whole songs. This disc doesn't have the 'highlights' that SFTD had but overall it's a more consistant listen. Hate the first track though! Love the single and the ballads are way serious which is a great thing IMO!

Really dig the first track now  Just hate the vocal effects Joey is using throughout the chorus! Rockin guitars, good track...

Man I feel all alone here answering my own posts

This CD just gets better. I can listen to the album from start to finish and that's something I still struggle to do with SFTD.
In a word this is a fantastic release and I move my rating up to a 90%, fersure a must buy, and I have  Sure I understand the comments about the album initially being a dissapointment but give it time... give it time...

Last year was my year of Gothic my top marks going to Paradise Lost and Charon, this year is the year of melodicrock... Europe, House of Lords, Jorn amoungst others...

It was a real grower for me. So much so that I now find it the most exciting album since Ootw, and definitely the most energetic tracklisting of any Europe album. I'm really proud of them for some great work.
