I know hes not hard rock, metal or whatever, but man, i've gotten into him of late. I've always liked his music but since seeing him in Melbourne on his "Reality" tour, I dug back through his catalogue. Forget the period where he went through his thin white duke phase and all that, and the Dancing in the street crap. I'm talking bout the "Reality" album, the "Heathen" album and "Earthling" from 1997". "Earthling" even has moments where it borders on hard rock/maybe soft metal and is damn good listening.
His best track ever is "Cactus" from "Heathen". Incredible stuff!!!! And his guitarist in the late 90's was Gabriel Richards, a mighty fine player.
The "Reality" live dvd from new york 2005 is a must!!!! Cant stop watching it.
I hope his next album has a bit more guitar in it, he maybe 60 in jan. but hes cool in my opinion.

Panic in Detroit from his Aladdin Sane album is brilliant. Actually, the whole album is pretty good.

Bowie was an innovative Glam rocker frmo the late 60's through the 70's and onwards, exceelent in my opinion. I like We Could Be Heroes, Ziggy Stardust, John I'm only Dancing, Life on mars, and Jean Jeanie, amongst others. :D

David Bowie is the sole reason why my CD collection has got out of control. I've loved him ever since I was 9, and within a few months of that I already had nearly 50 CDs of his. XD

I know we're meant to talk about his classic works (Hunky Dory, Ziggy, Aladdin, Station to Station, etc....) but who remembers Labyrinth? :P Such a wonderfully cheesy movie.

No that's not lame.... your having fun, enjoying yourself. Lame is some of the lasses I see in my home town who go out in freezing weather waring next to nothing in the hopes of attracting a fella....now is Lame!! :)

Yes and so you should be. Sounds like you have a heap of his stuff. Do you have a track called In the Heat of the Morning? I heard it years ago and haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Yep, I have it on The Dream Anthology: 1966-1968, if that's any help.
