As a big fan of Nick Gilder, I was really ecstatic to recently find out that one of his best albums, Frequency, is finally being released on CD. It's being released on one disc along with his previous (and most successful) album, City Nights, which contains the #1 hit that many of you may know, "Hot Child In The City." City Nights was actually put onto CD for the first time in 2003, but the sound isn't as good as its songs that are on the 2001 compilation, The Best Of Nick Gilder - Hot Child In The City (which sounds great and also contains three songs from Frequency), so hopefully this CD will sound more like that one.

I have Frequency on record and cassette, but my cassette is in really bad shape these days. The record is in okay shape, but I can't play records that often, and it's about twenty years overdue anyway for this magnificent album to be available on CD.

The City Nights/Frequency CD is being released by Collectables Records, which I'm sure that some of you have heard of. It's going to be released on December 26. Here's the link: http://www.oldies.com/product-view/29092.html.

I've been begging various record labels (both the original labels and reissue labels) for years to release Nick Gilder's great albums on CD, since most of them aren't. I haven't had any luck until now, and Collectables wasn't even one of the ones that I tried. I really thank them for this. I contacted them and got a reply the next day. The guy told me that they don't have any plans to reissue any of Gilder's other albums at the moment, but that the sales of this release would obviously have an impact on that decision.

By the way, this may be of interest to KISS fans (like myself). The bassist and drummer on both of these albums are Eric Nelson and Craig Krampf, respectively. They played a lot of the bass and drums on Paul Stanley's 1978 solo album.

P.S. Also buy it for your family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and enemies. :D

My apologies. The CD was temporarily available, but it is now listed as "Coming Soon" and being a pre-order again. The new date is January 30. I'm not sure what the problem is or if any of the orders placed while it was available will be sent out soon. I sent them an email to find out what's going on. I will keep everyone updated.
