Looks like David Lee Roth has signed on to the 2007 VH Tour!

Postby Voyager » Thu Jan 11, 2007 11:34 pm

From the MelodicRock.com home page:

A little update (and I mean little) on the 2007 tour - things are very much in motion, moving into the next gear I'm told, with David Lee Roth absolutely the vocalist that will join Ed, Alex and Wolfgang.

OMG - that obviously also means that Wolfie will be replacing Michael Anthony on bass guitar. That totally sucks!!! I mean, I feel great for Wolfie because this will be a HUGE boost for his music career and to help him follow in his dad's footsteps. I mean, what 16-year-old kid would ever get a chance to be in Van fucking Halen??? Also, I can only imagine how much cool guitar stuff Eddie is teaching Wolfie in the process - even though Eddie is inebriated half the time. But, I would much rather see Michael Anthony on this tour. It's going to suck without his great bass playing, and especially his high-tenor backup vocals that I highly doubt Wolfie (or anyone else in the band) can duplicate.

very true mike is and should be the only choice for VH even more so since the induction to R and R hall of fame they could really ride that one and pack the house but leaving wolfie in .....not a great choice

I just don't have any interest in Van Wolf Roth. My money will continue to go with Sammy and co.

Dave, Mike, Eddie, and Alex - I'm there...even if it probably would be a train wreck.

Dave, Wolfie, Eddie, and Alex - Fuck that. No interest at all.

all I can say is when VH tours with DLR and this might be VH's last tour. Anyone who doesnt go to the show because of Wolfie on bass will be making a big mistake. Just to see them both together playing Live should get your ass up off your seat and go to the concert.
Im saving my dollars already. Rock on

Sorry. But the only "big mistake" being made is Eddie putting his kid into the VH line-up.

Enjoy the show. I'll pass.

If he can belt out the harmony vocals, I might go.. but I fear without Michael Anthony DLR's major range limitation will be pretty hard to swallow. Then again, Roth was never good live.. but he was a performer.

I may go, just for the spectacle. MA was/is the heart and soul of the band, it's really a shame that such a great band, great music and great memories have gone on to be a has-been parody of itself.

I have to say that I have enjoyed Sammy's last two solo tours with Michael Anthony much more than I did the 2004 Van Halen tour. Eddie was so inebriated that the show was not entertaining. You could tell that Sammy and Michael were obviously frustrated with Eddie's tantrums and manipulation. Sammy is such a good entertainer, and Eddie had him stifled. I can only imagine what kind of a circus the DLR/Eddie/Alex/Wolfie tour will be. I'm sure when it's all over, Michael will be glad that he wasn't a part of it.

If this is last gasp of Van Halen....I hope it's with the original lineup. I'm praying that the HOF ceremony will mend some wounds and get the ball rolling.Unfortunately, I think this thing will totally implode and the band will make such a great honor into a fiasco. From what I have been hearing,Eddie is reluctant to jam with MA and Sammy and the HOF people wanna see the original lineup play at least a song together.

I too would much rather Michael on bass....but I was at the show a couple years ago and the vocals weren't a focal point. They played well and all, but Sammy was more in to having fun on stage, slapping high-fives versus serious singing.

I was surprise that even witth Eddie looking as though he was intoxicated he played only like he can play... with no problem.

Thats why he's Eddie Van Halen.Only he can play like he can even though others have tried.I just hope he realizes that this is his true moment to shine and get some respect with the fans that he's lost.
