He lives, breathes, and actually shows some humility. Go figure! :D

I watched all the videos and I'm still trying to decide if he was drunk or stoned or maybe both??? I really don't care if he drinks himself into oblivion, but if he can't stay sober for a short soiree with the Fender reps, how will he stay sober long enough for a tour? Sorry VH101, I know you are a loyal VH fan and I was also for 20+ years. Eddie just killed it for me, and I think there are other fans who feel the same way.

Just watched EVH at NAMM and as someone who can remember the goofy genius of the 70's/80's I just found it very sad that he as become such a rambling old man. You have to ask if the people who care for him have tried all they can to help him, especially his brother.

I was considering making a trip from the UK to watch any reunion tour but now I am not so sure.

I saw Sammy and Michael last summer, growing old with grace and a sense of fun. I know that EVH is a different character but couldn't someone have helped years ago.

As I say very, very sad.

I'm just glad he's out and about. He looks alot better than when he showed up at the Oscars.Sucks though that he was there at NAMM when Michael Anthony wasn't.

I know about you people sometime. Ed looked fine to me. He looked sober also, he justs one of those person who doesnt like to speak in front of audiences. He even said he rather be playing than talking my friends. He showed some good licks that we are familiar with and Im sure he will be great to see.

Ed's fine. He's apparently not a public speaker. If he's drinking to avoid anxiety, that's his business.

Don't tell me about the great rock 'n' rollers who were spaced out 24/7 on drugs or booze whose lives were cut short! Let's just live it up!

Well said mate....very well said.

Some people are only here to dump shit on Eddie, and that is the saddest thing of all.

This extraordinarily gifted musician has been on a downward spiral for the past ten years, and that is what's really sad. According to a friend who attended the Fender event at NAMM over the weekend, Ed was not sober. Yes, he showed his licks and they are the same ones he has been playing for 20 years. Nothing new. Please understand one thing - I simply do not care how Eddie Van Halen lives his life. I am realistic enough to see this man is a parody of his former self. Eddie has been dumping on people for years. I guess turnabout is fair play.

Eddie was drinking in the '70s, '80s, somewhat in the '90s...

If you don't care how EVH lives his life, then stop commenting on it!!! :!:

Gladly! I really would like to know, though, why Fender had the NAMM video clips of EVH removed from YouTube.

Fender did, did they?

Yes, it was. Your devotion to the Van Halen brothers is truly commendable!

You mean, they did?

Starnge way to self promote I would have thought! In terms of my devotion to the VH brothers, I'm not normally so slavish but when so many people come here seemingly just to dump on the man, needs must!

Sorry about that. Fender did have the vids removed. I don't know the reason - perhaps to avoid further embarrassing their new pitchman? Don't really know, Kenny. I did share your enthusiasm for many years, but I guess the continuing drama, lack of new music and Ed's downward spiral just blew it for me. At some point, I hope this tour makes it to Australia, and I hope it is everything you expect it to be.

Would you want his drunken, stuttering ass representing your business? Enough said.

He is still playin the same stuff, what a surprise. I don't think I could stay awake at a V.H. show anymore. He did have alot better sound than what I've heard in awhile. I'd say the new V.H. is gonna have a hard time makin it through the summer in one piece. Did anybody else checkout Buckethead on the c.d. that came with the new Guitar World? I'd say Ed was buckethead, but he does'nt have the abilities to play that stuff.

Clearly Fender does want his 'drunken, stuttering ass' given that they no doubt parted with lots of coin to take on the Frankenstein and Eddie's legacy etc etc....

Your ongoing hatred and bilious comments are getting old. Very old.

Clearly you hate Edward and everything he is in 2007. VH fans get it mate - Ed's a drunk, he can't play anymore, VH is a joke, etc etc etc etc......there you are. You don't need to grace us with your continued hatred of everything Van Halen anymore.

Geez, Kenny, don't have an apoplexy here. People are simply expressing their opinion. If you want to even things out and extoll the virtues of EVH, I will read them and be on my merry way.

For One, I think you have to take the WHOLE PACKAGE with Eddie. ie: the Good with the Bad.

We have no Idea what is going on in his life...
Divorce, Custody, Everybody judging him. SOME OF HIS FANS TRYING TO DICTATE HIS LIFE. Thats a downer in itself.

Secondly, to him slurring....when speaking

1. He has always been a mumbler, for the quick wit joke.
2. He has had one third of his Tounge cut off , due to the Cancer.
3. His hearing is probably not the best. Try talking with fingers in your ears
4. So what

I can't wait.
