Valerie won't allow Wolfie to tour?

I have read on several websites that Valerie Bertinelli may be the reason that the 2007 Van Halen Tour is being put on hold. They are saying that she is opposing the idea of Wolfie, age 15, going on this tour at such a young age. She has joint custody of Wolfie (a minor) with Eddie Van Halen. This would explain the source of the holdup being a "prominent figure outside of the band" as many websites have revealed.
I was actually hoping that the holdup was because Eddie entered himself into a rehab. That would have given me much more hope for this tour being a potential success. Oh well, no one has come out and said anything official yet, so it's still all speculation and rumor.

This scenario makes the most sense to me. I actually was wondering how Eddie pulled off having his 15 year old son on a major tour with the usual sex, drugs & rock n roll. C'mon, this is a DLR & VH tour, bound to be some of that.

It's not like Wolfie is touring with a boy band, where they have constant handlers. Personally, I think it's irresponsible. If he was 18, then shut my mouth. What I hope and pray for Ed is that he realize that after his cancer went into remission, God gave him another chance at life. Sure, we would all like to see the band again, with MA, but from someone who has seen people destroy their lives over addictions, I'd rather see Ed straighten out his act first before anything else. Props to Valerie for being a responsible parent, if she's keeping Wolfie out of this.

If this is true, good for Valerie.

I'd love to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth, but right now I would much rather see Eddie get some help for himself.

You know, Voyager, I feel the same way.

Yeah that is already starting to echo guys.....I wish I needed help like Eddie - multi millionaire, no shitty 9-5 job, garage full of cars etc etc etc....
Not sure about the Val thing, though it does have credence....one would have thought she may have a problem with Wolfie hanging out at 5150 if that was the case though....

Kenny, you cannot be serious about that statement! So what you're saying here is as long as he's a millionaire, has expensive cars in the garge, yada, yada, yada, his alcoholism and drug addiction are okay. I care about the human being, not the rock star, so, yeah, I would like to see him get help.

What do you mean?
He has a drug problem? You know this beyond question? Are you a fan of any other bands who may have drug or alcohol problems, and if so, are you repeatedly shilling about them 'getting help'?
I don't understand this feigned 'care' about Eddie. If anyone knows the man personally or is a friend of the family then fair enough.....but the fact is there are people here who somehow feel cheated or pissed off for some reason by a band that has produced on average a studio album every 3 years!!
Not bad going in anyone's terms. Give me a break on the 'I just care about Ed the human being shite. I know what you're doing.
If he needs some kind of help for any reason he is old enough and rich enough to get it....and privately. In real terms his perceived personal problems are none of our fucking business. He shares his music with us, not his personal life, or family, drug, urinary, bowel or any other problems!!!

Apparently,I cannot make a simple statement without you going on a tirade. Do you have to know someone personally to care about what happens? I don't! I don't know people in New Orleans who, to this day, are still trying to rebuild their lives, but I do care. I don't know the homeless people I see on the streets of my city, but you better believe, I do care. And unlike you, Kenny, I have never resorted to obscenities in responding to a post.

A tirade?? Obscenities????
Sorry about that. We're clearly on a different plane. I do believe it is impossible to care about everyone in this world that would need to be cared about, if you will.
It is hard enough to have a healthy relationship with a partner, deal with family stuff and friendships and work issues without thinking about rebuilding the lives of strangers.....or rock stars.
Now don't get me wrong, I do care about VH - their music has been the soundtrack to my life - its simply that I feel this 'feigned concern' for his welfare (get help/rehab etc etc) is just another way to say the guy is a drunken bum. It really is no-ones business but his.
If this is not your particular intention, then clearly I have my wires crossed.
But gee, that was about a quarter of a tirade at best!!!

Maybe that's why I unfairly jumped down Trailblazers throat.....

It's funny. I called out Ed and Valerie a couple of weeks ago over this very issue. I got jumped on then. I certainly hope this is the reason the tour is being postponed.
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

I have had it up to here with people ripping on Dave. Question number oL have you read his book? No, I didn't think so. The man has more euphemisms than Yogi Berra, and he looks a lot better in spandex, too.
Question number two: what's the difference between Dave and Edward? Diamond Dave has been to every continent in the world, scaled mountains, dwelled amongst the Pygmies, diversified his musical repertoire by segueing into the jazz and the blues, been an EMT in the worst neighborhoods in America, worked with a litany of inredibly talented musicians, shagged hundreds of hotties (and probably your girlfriend, too), and most importantly, LIVED. He has gotten the most out of life, and the next one's on the house with glasses raised to Dave for helping me to see life through a much wider lens.
SHAME ON YOU for dragging him down into Edward's shitheap of a life. Edward has spent the last 15 years watching porn, ignoring his wife, boozing, and alienating tens of millions of fans across the globe. Do you think Dave actually gets into those gold lycra pants and thinks he's the hottest thing going? And let me tell ya, I hope I look that good when I'm 52. If you can't plant your tongue in your cheek, you don't get the joke, and you're a Sammy guy anyway. Which is fine. Because the next best thing to VH with Diamond Dave is Van Hagar. Sam and Dave both kick ass. It just took Sammy 10 years of putting up with Edward's shit to realize what it only took Dave 5 years to realize.

I don't care what he does in his personal life but if he sells high priced tickets for VH then I expect to hear him play good and not watch him stumble around the stage playing sloppy.

I too believe that Valerie might have a say in all this and rightfully so.I seriously doubt that any responsible mother would agree to alow a teenager to go on a tour with a problem-dad,risk letting the kid being affected by all kinds of stressful situations on stage or,even worse, backstage fights and boozing...
It may be Wolfie's dream to get on tour with VH & his father, but he's too young for this shit.

I hope you get the help you need because this sounds like you're throwing your life away. I care about you, and want you to be able to make sound decisions. It seems unfair to be doing this to your fans on the message boards. Please don't throw your life away!

I don't think its Val. There is a reason Eddie may not be going to the HOF ceremony and its not because Val is stopping him.
