THe new song clips

Postby Rodimus » Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:57 pm

Both clips from the new album were not finished production quality but sounded great!

"Make a memory" was in every way a ballad and I find it very catchy and can see myself in the future playing the tune for a long time over and over. I really liked the lyrics as well......as far as a country sound...I did not feel it to be that country, but again, only a demo.

"I love this town" was a fun, upbeat, country rock song which again, is not as country as I thought it would be. It sounds similar to "who says you cant go home" except with more twangy guitar, and parts in the chorus where he would go "say hey!.........say yeah!" and the band reapeating each one of those back. The verse was the less country part but the chorus was very what I would consider pop country. This song I believe to be pretty cheesy, but a song you could bob your head to and it is also quite catchy.

Overall I liked the new song clips though they may not sound like that when I here the actual final version. I must say though that I am impressed and I cannot wait to here what else is in store.

If you want to here the demos go to youtube.

Not too impressed with either one, I wish they would get back to their rock roots.

The song could be alot better, but I was not expecting much going into it and so I was surprised when I heard what they did sound like. Bon jovi have changed their sound over the years, and yet still remained at the core who they are. I do hope the songs are better than what I heard but I am biased. I will more than likely like the album regardless. I have every Bon Jovi album and none of them have ever dissapointed me. I do not believe they will dissapoint with this new album, but it is possible.

I personally did not like crush when it came out. At the time, I saw Bon jovi as sellouts and did not want to listen to their music. But somewhere along the line, my musical tastes changed a little, and I became more accepting. When I look in retrospect and evaluate the songs on Crush, though many are really polished and poppy, I still enjoy them and find good songwriting in them.

But I understand everyones feelings toward not liking this album. Perhaps it will be bad, but we will see. IT really comes down to the ear of the listener and the Bias they bring into it from the start.

You know, Its my life is an arena rocker.....they did well with that song....if they did go back to makign arena rockers, perhaps they would do much better in the U.S. and everywhere else. Its my life revived them and yet they have not made a song since that was a catchy that you could really pump your fist to(though I really like Have a nice day.) But perhaps times have changed.

With a band like them, I wonder if they just made an amazing album that sounded like their older stuff, would it sell more? Or could they even write something like that anymore? The melodic sound is back in new music today...perhaps it is possible.
