The more you think about it, there is no way Ed and Al would let Sammy and MA represent the band at the ROR HOF. It would have killed them to see that footage.

All the more reason that I hope it plays out that way!

I don't understand why though. MA has been there since the beginning and Sammy made them millions. I remember reading his interview in Guitar World in 2004 and he said how great it was to have Sammy and Michael back in his life and how important they are to him. It seems like most of the stuff he says is just all bullshit.

Yeah, but since then Ed seems to feel Sammy and MA are using the band to hawk their products.

Eddie is a control freak. Sammy co wrote all the Van Hagar era music and has a right to preform those songs. Eddie sells a lot of EVH products and equipment himself. He made sure he had his $30,000 replica guitar strapped around him for the new PR Van Halen picture.

Who can blame Sammy and Mike? It's like when Steve Perry didn't want to tour with Journey. Who can blame Neal and Jon for wanting to move forward?

You got that right, Voyager! Did you happen to catch the Nextel race last Sunday when Mikey joined Sammy for "I Can"t Drive 55"? Those two have such a great time together and it carries out into the audience, IMHO.

Exactly.
And really, just to touch on another point, what is wrong with Mike or Sam 'hawking' hot sauce or tequila or any other damn thing? As far as I know, their products don't have 'VH' anywhere on them?

Maybe Eddie and Alex are just pissed because they sold their percentage of the Cabo Wabo club back when it wasn't doing to good and now its making huge profits. MA sold his percentage to but probably so Eddie wouldn't fire him.

Mybe...but its hard to imagine Ed and Al being short of cash somehow.
Then again, they are Dutch - I have a couple of Dutch friends and too much cash is never enough!!

Did they? I hadn't heard about this, didn't know that they had an interest in it.
What year did Sammy start up the Cabo Wabo, does anyone know? Just curious.

The whole band started the club in the early 90's. The club got behind in taxes and Eddie and Alex didn't want to pay the money. Sammy told them he would pay their share of the back taxes because he wanted to keep the club. They came up with some kind of buy out deal and Sammy got a new partner that has a lot of connection with the politicians down there. The whole story is in the leaked chapters from his book that was never released and if you search you can find them online. Chapters 19 and 20.

I'm a Dave guy, but I absolutely love Sammy. Damn nice guy, too, in addition to being one of the best hard rock singers EVER, an underrated axeman, and a helluva songwriter. I saw him at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC, and he took the time to shake hands and say "hi" to everyone waiting by the tour bus - and there were over 200 of us. Classy guy (other than the Dave comments).

I don't care if Ed is there or not anymore. I'm tired of him. If he doesn't care about going then scew him.

Ed is getting his shit together, that takes precedence over the ceremony.

I hope EVH© does get better but what I don't understand is why VH made the tour announcement before he did get better.

I have pulled out alot of "old" VH recently in preparation for the HOF ceremony and a possible live performance.
I am devastated that the original lineup will not be there intact and playing for us all.
Oh well...Ed's got bigger issues I suppose.
I'm still bummed.
