Van Halen sighting, tour still on according to Alex

You never know who you might run into while getting a sandwich. An intrepid Van Halen fan reported on Metal Sludge that he was waiting to be seated at his local deli when drummer Alex Van Halen showed up with his son. The fan asked Van Halen about the status of the reunion tour with David Lee Roth and was told, "Everything is shaping up to go later this year," adding that things have "never been better" with Roth and that the singer was "100 percent supportive and understanding" of guitarist Eddie Van Halen's recent rehab stint.
The drummer also said that his brother "might have died" if the band had attempted to tour before Eddie checked himself in. Of course, anything posted by an anonymous fan on a site called Metal Sludge is questionable, but if this proves true, Van Halen fans might have a nice 2007 yet

I so want to believe this...
Dave deserves this to happen.

Dave and Mike. I think that's the last piece of the puzzle - Edward needs to apologize to Mikey, big time.

There was also another sighting of Eddie Van Halen in New York City last week:

A good friend of mine who's one of the most sought-after studio bassists in New York has heard this rumour from more than one source and believes it to be true.

God let him have the brains for it to be so ...

What if they're recording songs right now for a fall drop in time for the tour?

From what I've heard through a friend of mine who reads metal sludge, Alex also said that Mike will never work with VH again because he took Sammy's side

Only time will tell as they say. But with DLR being so quiet and no plans for any summer shows as of yet. This says a lot. The Mighty Van Halen may still rise.

That doesn't sound like Alex.He has been the most quiet one through this whole ordeal. With Wolfgang saying he's too young to tour...who else is gonna play bass for VH?

Oh screw that. I cant picture Billy singing Mikey's high parts.
Why am I starting to think this is all gonna be another fart aimed at the fans?

I'll be VERY surprised if Van Halen (the band) does anything.
I expect Ed to write some new stuff w/ Wolfie & Al and just have fun...maybe help launch Wolfie's music...

That to me would prove that rehab did not work then, at least not totally.

Exactly. All we need is Steve Vai and Gregg Bisonnette and we have a great band. Oh wait. David already did the better-than-van-halen-tour thing. Those shows were great!

I think no one wants a part of Van Halen anymore. Right now is it even considered Van Halen anymore?
