The whole Journey debacle going on, I've read quite a bit and see a lot of the same feelings from Journey fans that I've seen for years from VH fans.

Overall, I'd have to say us VH fans have gotten a larger and longer shaft than Journey fans. Only 2 tours in the last ten years, lots of squashed hopes for reunions with Dave, and the 04 tour with Sammy had Eddie not playing as well as your average VH cover band guitarist most nights.
At least Journey has toured quite frequently with the other Steve.

Journey is getting to VH-level crappiness with this whole Soto thing, though.

I've always been of the opinion that the two biggest reunion tours left to be done, at least from American bands, are Journey with Perry and VH with Dave. Up until the last year or so, the VH/Roth reunion I've thought would be hands down the biggest of the two.

Now, I'm not so sure. You can only build people's hopes up and dash them so many times before people start to not care.

Anyway, so whose fans get the shaft the worst...VH or Journey?

That's like asking which country has gotten shafted the worst - USA or Iraq.

As an australian fan of both bands,we got to see vh here with cherone, but i wouldve prefrred hagar, and we have never seen journey.
So we've been shafted twice.

Im amazed this is even up for debate. The VH fans have been getting shafted for years. The last time we even saw them was with a messed up Eddie messing up all his riffs and then the whole reunion thing that exploded before they even got on stage with Roth.

Journey with JSC when they played here with Def Lep was phenonemal.I'd hardly call that a bad thing at all.

Let's put it this way - if a sober Eddie is on stage playing his guitar, nobody is getting shafted. The same way with Neal Schon. When he is on stage playing his guitar, you're getting your money's worth regardless of who is singing. It was only when Eddie was drunk and stoned on stage that his fans got shafted.

The Original Poster forgot the option to include "Draw" meaning the same.

These days, I see no difference between Journey and Van Halen...the *only* difference is that at least VH had significant, lasting, meaningful success with their replacement of the original singer....

But really, in both cases, I see bands where the Guitarist's ego simply has no room for any singer other than a complete scrub that will "Yes, Sir" the guitarist to death.

LOL.....Eddie's ego is driven by the fact he's a paranoid idiot. He drank and did meth to overcome that but instead he went insane.
