Do Eddie and Wolfie look like they're ready to rock?

Wolf looks like he has slimmed down. I think he may be ready to rock that bass... but the 40-million-dollar question is:

Who is going to provide the signature Michael Anthony high tenor backup vocals?

:?:

Wolfie is a product of his age (hormones) & his mom's DNA. He's a typical teenager w/ some "baby fat" issues...no biggie. A lot of us have gone through that. I get really irritated when I see people make cracks about his weight...grow up already (not you, Voyager).

Ed looks great!

Woflie looks good. He's been working out too. Huge difference from the '04 tour. He almost looks a little bit buff. His image now to then is different than Eddie's because his wasn't by choice. His is just what some go through.
Yeah, we don't walk Mikey on tour with us, but let's use his backing vocals..
Looking at a picture of Ed now, and a picuture of him with the rotten smiling teethe and frayed hair, it's almost creepy in a way. Don't get me wrong, Ed looks great too, but a lot of it's cosmetic, you still are who you are.

I dunno, judging from Wolfie's physique, I am wondering how close Michael Anthony was to Valerie.

Janie Liszewski-Ed's girlfriend & publicity/spokesperson, who also did porn publicity.. :P
Liszewski reportedly met Van Halen while she was doing publicity for the movie Sacred Sin, which featured his music on the soundtrack.

I saw another pic of her before, I thought she was taller.

Yeah Wolfie looks great.....big set of shoulders on the boy!!

What a difference in Ed! Good on him. I personally won't miss MA's background vox - a little overated in my view - verging on screaming on occasion. But I can see why people think it was an integral part of the VH sound - mostly he same people who now think Ed's a joke and VH suck!!

Oh well....I will definitely go see them and be happy as fuck.

In all seriousness, I just cannot look at that first photo. It literally turns my stomach. Kudos to him now, but what a sad shame.

Yea, that's a different chick than from the racetrack.

Agree w/ Kenny too. MA's LIVE bg vox are too loud. Studio it's perfect but they take over live.

Yup, live they are too much, to be honest.

Believe this chick is Joey House. She owns an upscale florist in LA called House of Petals. Eddie did a couple of "gigs" there.

Yep, the very first photo posted in this thread is Janie, and the last photo posted is Joey.
Here is a link to the event you speak of, the clothes match up.

It wouldn't be too hard to find someone who can emulate Michael Anthony's high tenor vocals, but what would they do with the person? Stick them backstage and hand them a mic, and make it look like Eddie and Wolfie are singing Michael Anthony's parts? I mean, the odds of Wolfie having a voice that could sing the high tenor parts is like 5000 to one. Michael Anthony really does have a very unique voice, and without someone adding them into the mix, the signature Classic Van Halen sound will be sorely lacking.

On all the so many EVH, DLR, VH, etc.. websites, many say that Wolfy looks like he doesn't want to be in photos, looks like something is up his ass, unhappy, etc...after seeing him a few times with his pa on the '04 tour and looking at all the photos he has been in, I just think he looks shy.
Also, with who his mom and dad are, and with the way the web is today, he's got know that he's going to be gone over with a fine toothe comb. I sort of feel bad for the kid. I know, some are going to say, why, his folks are popular and loaded and he doesn't have to be in photos or tour, but still..

I think it's a heavy load to place on a 16-year old kid. He's taking the place of a very popular member of the band - that, in itself would be intimidating for an adult, much less a teenager. I'm with you on this one, piecesofeight - I hope it goes well for this kid.

Yeah, the more I sit and think about this and even though EVH is his dad, it's still EVH and DLR that he will be playing with on their REUNION tour. Even if this wasn't a reunion tour and we jump back quite a few years and Wolfy was older then, he wuold have been looked at under a microscope. The way people judged Wolfy from bootleg dvd's in '04 and the way they are talking about him just from a couple of photos from this year, one can only imagine what he's going to be in for, and most of this right now is only coming from online fans. Wait until the press starts to tear apart every little thing he does.
I can't really think of another family music business thing to compare to something like this. What a way to first come out!
With the shape that Eddie has been in, on and off over the years, a lot of it on Wolfys end has had to be self taught.
If you really sit and think about it, it's CRAZY, in a wild way, not a bad way. At least with all the info on this being put out there in the pre press conf. stuff, people should be aware that Eddie's son will be there, not Mikey.
Unlike what some of the people, who aren't internet loons, still think about who's singing for Styx or Journey.
Some people around the net are saying this whole thing won't do well. I think there will be numerous sell outs, but if they will make it all the way through the tour..I think so. Eddie is in better shapre RIGHT NOW then when he did the '04 tour and he was pissed at Sammy all the time backstage, plus being ticked at Mikey for this and that. This time he will still have his brother, PLUS his son. No one really knows how him and Dave feel about each other. Must be descent to even be doing this.

By the way, who is going? Hell yeah. I want to see Dave now with VH, I want to see the 'new' Eddie, and I want to see Wolfy play, and I want to see David with Eddie.
I do agree though, you go to early in the tour and all the flaws aren't worked out yet, you go to late in the tour, and well, it may be too late..
It's a funny thing, I wish everyone well with this, even though Mikey got the shaft, but in a way you wonder if a train wreck will happen.
Getting back to Mikey for a minute. He's put up with a lot, and a lot of people around the net are saying they won't go because Mikey got treated like crap and won't be there. I cannot think of a time when I ever read such support for a base player. Usually they get the least and no one really cares about them. Granted too though with Mikey, it's also his singing. Some want to say that Mike layed his bed by going with Sammy, but he didn't want to sit around waiting. Plus, stuff with Mike goes way back. He did the 2004 tour for the fans and gave up some stuff to do so.

I wonder with his son around if this will help Eddie to do 'what's right' Granted, he didn't with his brother around, and Alex obviously couldn't control him, but for the sake of his son, he may. Val will pull Wolfy out of there faster than Eddie can take a swig. Hopefully for this sake, he will stay on the straight to keep the tour going.

Wonder if they have a back up bass player in case it get's to be too much for Wolfy..and who it would be?

I think the recent technology might help Wolfie with his vocals.

Vocal harmonizers actually work to make your voice sound different. A lot of musicians use them in studios to create 3 and 4 part harmonies of their own voice. Although they may sound a little "digital", it can be used to pull off some backing vocals.

Check this link on how it works.

harmonizers have been around for 20 years, though of course they haven't always been digital.

Maybe the off-stage keyboardist can sing Michael Anthony's high harmonies.

Note to all of us out there, including me, if Eddie was OUR dad and we had to stand on a stage with those three, we would come off shy too. Ideally, I would have liked to have seen MA out with them, but he's got a decent thing going with Sammy anyway. 3/4 of most bands are not touring anymore. Think of all the 1 member bands out there, with 3-4 hired guns. Many of those types of "reformed" bands come to mind.

Eddie looks on the verge of once again self-destructing, and Wolfie looks like he's ready to go wipe out a few buffets with his mom.
