HMMMM

- Sammy is floating in money from the Cabo Wabo sale.
He's really thrilled at how it has all worked out, and
now he has total financial freedom to do whatever he
wants in terms of touring, opening new Cantinas, etc.
- He knows that his Fall tour is going to take a hit
from VH fans who will be sapped of "disposable income"
because of the reunion tour, but he really doesn't
care. Even if the tour plays to half-houses, it will
just be written off as promotional expenses for the
new Cantinas, which are gonna get pushed hard.
- He has had no contact with Eddie since the 2004
tour. He has had some conversations with Alex, but
that relationship is strained because Hagar feels Alex
let Eddie screw Mike.
- He's really angry that they didn't invite Mike to do
the reunion shows, probably more than Mike himself is!
- He said Matt Sencio (wasn't he an MTV host?) told
him that Dave didn't come to the Hall Of Fame because
it was made clear to him that if he got on stage with
Sammy and Mike to accept the award, there would never
be a reunion tour.
- He's really pushing the idea of breaking up his
shows into different sets with multiple intermissions.
His plan for the Fall is to do an opening set with
Mike and Lauser as Los Tres Gusanos, then Mike will do
a set with Lauser and Vic Johnson doing classic Rock
and VH stuff, then a third Wabos set with Vic, Lauser
and Mona, then an encore with Mike as the "Other
Half".
- Hagar has floated the idea of flying in special
guests to join the tour for a few shows, with Chad
Smith, Matt Sorum, Lars & Kirk of Metallica, Neal
Schon and Ronnie Montrose being the names floated
around.
- Sammy (and Mike, and anyone else with half a brain)
is really worried what might happen to Wolfgang if the
shows aren't good. The feeling is, if Eddie starts
playing sloppy, fans are going to blame Wolfgang
instead of him, and a fan who feels ripped off
throwing shit at a 16 year old kid would be a pretty
fucked up situation.
