Bon Jovi Ticket Prices Australia

Hi Everybody.
Ill start by saying Bon Jovi and Van Halen are my 2 fav bands of all time.I have bought anything and everything from these 2 bands like everybody else that follows them. Now altho i couldnt care less abt the van halen circus,i still manage to follow bon jovi whenever they release something.
So after 12 years they have announced an Aussie tour.
Ticket prices are nothing short of pathetic.Sydney show,265 Dollars,195 and 145 dollars.I really dont care who comes to this country but there is no way id pay for bon jovi, van halen or any other clowns that have made millions of dollars from us fans by slugging us prices like these.
Mr jbj claims to be for the blue collar worker. He ain't the boss who is charging 55-95 us dollars to see his show, jbj thinks 145-265 is reasonable.
There will be fools that'll pay astronomical prices but no one is worth 270 bux for 2hrs of entertainment.
What is everybody else's thoughts?

I saw them in Chicago last year and it was a pretty good show. I wish they would have played more songs as they were written instead of making every song a medley or adding stuff to it. For example, in "Bad Medicine" where the song slows down, they broke into a version of "Shout". Or, there were a number of songs where they would stop the song and do a little skit or tell a story. The crowd LOVED it, for the most part but, it wasn't really my cup of tea.

I paid something like $65 US for the cheapest seats available. And they were sec. 400, waaaayyyy in the upper deck of Soldier Field and I thought that pricing was outrageous. If it weren't for the video screens we couldn't have seen anything. The best seats were closer and in the $150 range.

I remember back 20 years ago when they were touring Slippery When Wet and they came to Milwaukee. The best seats were like $20 and the upper deck seats were $12 or so. I realize that times have changed but, they are charging way, way, to much. I'm sure they'll sell the place out but, at what cost? Alienating the fanbase? Perhaps this is something they don't care much about...

News for you people will pay it. There are people out there that have so much money they piss it. I myself have stopped paying big money for tickets. I basically only see bar shows and maybe one outdoor venue a year. Tickets to sports and concerts has gone thru the roof.

That being said prices here are bad, but you gotta calculate in that Autralia is half way around the world for Bon Jovi. And how many shows are they coming there to do. it is costly for a couple of shows. You can either pay it or not. But my guess is this will be your last time to see Bon Jovi in Australia so it is your choice. Still cheaper than flying over here to see them.

Got to agree that those ticket prices are extortion. But........let's face it, most fans download albums these days. The artist has to make money somewhere. if they don't make money from albums they have to get it someplace else.

All of us are paying for greedy people who refuse to buy an artists recorded work.

The average arena ticket price in the U.K. is now around £50, 10 years ago it was at least half that.

Thanks for the input guys,Thing is that the aussie dollar is very strong at the moment.Almost equivalent to the us dollar.
So what theyre charging is pathetic.
Anyway i honestly hope they dont sell out.Altho in melbourne the 375 dollar pre sale seats have been sold out.
Thats unbelievable.

Well Gold Bon Jovi tickets are higher than normal although there have been big bands come out that have charged more (Rolling Stones? U2 possibly?).

But the going rate for your average high profile international show ranges between $99 (cheap seats) to $150.

Ive paid $150 on tickets for Maiden, Guns N Roses, Heaven and Hell, etc. Motorhead were originally charging $150 but cut the prices in half when ticket sales wern't selling terribly well.

the shows sold out in minutes in Aussie! New Zealand prices are expensive as hell as well, although they are only doing one concert here, which I thought would have sold out by now but it hasnt. I'm not going because I'd have airfares on top of 300 bucks for a ticket

Understand you. On the other side if you love the band and have no other chance to see them.... Ticket prices here in europe are always less than what you have so I have luck...

NZ Concert!!!!

I flew from New Plymouth to Christchurch with my 10 year olf son and it was worth every cent of the air fares and ticket price for me. Fantastic Show!! Best show I have been to in years with excellent audience involvment. I don't mind paying for quality.
