Sebastian Bach's "Angel Down"

I must say, I've been a fool to have posessed this album for so damn long and not to have listened to it.

Angel Down is a little heavy for my tastes....circa some of the newer bands, but definitely listenable

You don't understand features a guitar sound I've heard before, but can't exactly pinpoint, and bach's voice sounds awesome! It's almost like....well...dare...I say this...but you know I'd almost call this one "maiden" like...

There are three songs on here featuring Axl Rose....one of which is a cover of a classic from one of my favorites, Aerosmith. "Back In The Saddle" is great.

(Love is) A Bitchslap...also features Rose...and by God, I'd almost pass it off for something Circa "Appetite for Destruction"....

Stuck Inside..the third featuring Rose...goes from sounding like Godsmack to sounding like Queensryche in a matter of three seconds...and back....and it's awesome..

American Metalhead reminds me a little of "Ugly Kid Joe" -

I can live without "negative light" - not that great...same with "Live and Die" - both songs a little heavy for my "melodic ears"....

But then he brought me back with "By Your Side"....Axl rose is not credited on this song, but I can almost swear I heard him......this is a great little "semi Acoustic" number.....very good.......and the last time I Swore I heard axl rose on a song....I was told by ten people I was wrong, and I won 50 bucks on the deal... (Don Henley's "I will Not Go Quietly"

"Our Love Is A Lie'' sounds like a little bit heavier 80's metal band....almost like this guy was in an 80's hair band or somethin....

Take Me Down With You - I can't identify...but there's that maiden guitar sound again....listenable at best..

Stabbin Daggers...eh...not my style..

You Bring Me Down - This is unique....and once again, I can't pinpoint one specific genre....but have any of you ever heard "Fozzy". The way Chris Jericho emphasizes the last word on sentences...

"Falling Into You" - is a great way to close the album....great harmonizing guitars.....a great ballad...almost "jovi-ish" - but I dare not say that about sebastian bach.....but I mean...that's what it hit me like....the piano, the acoustic, the style...it's there..so I'll say it.

Anyway...

It's definitely worth listening to if you havent already..

Steve

There are some cuts on the album that I really enjoy ("You Don't Understand," "Back In The Saddle," "(Love Is) A Bitchslap," "By Your Side," "Our Love Is A Lie," "Falling Into You"), while a lot of the other stuff does little to nothing for me, like you said.

I'm glad to own it, but it's not a great album by any means. I'd call it worthwhile. I probably won't listen to it straight through a whole lot (something that I prefer to do with albums), but the best songs on the album will definitely be getting some play from me in the future.

Well i was of two minds getting it after the review on here but i took the plunge and got it.

Yes a few tracks are pretty much metal and may not please the more AOR melodic rock fans but after a good few listens its grown on me. The ballads are great and very addictive..

Ive read a few reviews and most rate it.. and rightly so. I have to agree with a couple of reviewers in that there is definitely life after Skid Row for Sebastian Bach and i have to admire him for doing an album that he wants to do!

I hope he can tour on the back of this and shine more as a solo artist.
