BULLSHIT, They would hire a freelance bass player before they bring mike back.

Chances are the rumor is completely false. But it sure sounds good.

Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar are reportedly recording a new album with a "mystery guitarist" (Joe Satriani?) and getting ready for an upcoming tour. So I don't know that Mike would just drop all of that to come running back to bail out his "good buddy" Eddie Van Halen after getting dumped like he was. IMO Eddie would have to give him a big fat offer to make up for getting dissed on the 2007/2008 Van Halen tour AND for the big cut in pay Mikey agreed to so he wouldn't get dumped from the 2004 tour (as was reported that Eddie tried to make happen).

Since there is a Mike, Sammy, Neal, Dean and Joe record in the can, maybe that band is going out.

That is what I understand also. Sammy and Mike bailed shortly after Slash.

I for one would hope that Mikey would tell Eddie to go straight to hell...not to pass go and not to collect $200....

Michael Anthony is not a fill in for fatty Wolfie...

Can't wait to catch him with Hagar...

While I'd love to see MA give Eddie the finger and tell him where he can shove it, I think better revenge would be to take tons of cash from him. As a fan, there's nothing I'd like to see more than MA back in the band.

I caught them with Wolfie on the tour and, while he was an OK sub, he wasn't close to the bass player or stage presence that MA is. It just wasn't the same without MA.

MA will never be asked to play in VH. They would get someone else. Too much bad blood IMO.

Michael Anthony will be back with the band when they go back out on the road . It appears Wolfie and Ed had a really bad fight and Wolfie is not going to tour anymore . I will not reveal any of my sources , flame all you want about that , or my other posts . Just remember all of you where told way before they hit the road again . From what i hear , all four original members have been brought together for this last part of the tour . And it will most definately be the last time VH will tour . If you have tickets , please go . An official announcement will be coming in a few weeks . take it or leave it guys , as i said , i cannot reveal this source of info , sorry.

I sure hope this is true. It would be worth waiting for since my Saint Louis date has been postponed twice now!

There are some reliable sources at the Links - the guy who posted that, is not one of those sources.

This is a bullshit post by some schmo who got wasted and pulled a story out of his ass.

First of all, if they finish the tour, I guarantee they put out a record. Dave wants it too bad.

And Dave's passion is VH...he will tour with Ed as long as Edward can stand up and play guitar.

That seems to happen a lot over at the Links. Brett has his work cut out for him and has to do a lot of deleting. But, it's not like Van Halen doesn't provide plenty of fodder for rumors to run rampant. They never tell fans what the hell is going on, so it's all left to speculation when shows get canceled.

Personally, I wish they would dump Wolfie and get Michael Anthony back - but it's not going to happen. I doubt Michael would ever sign back on, given Eddie's track record over the past five years. I never did get the whole Wolfie thing. He's nowhere near as good of a fit on bass or vocals for Van Halen as Mike was.

yeah he certainly used to delete a lot of posts by people who disagreed with the invasion of Iraq or criticised israel in any way!! No, you're right though - if the band were a bit more forthcoming there'd be a lot less 'speculation'.

You know the best part of the Sammy Hagar/David Lee Roth tour for me was when Michael Anthony came out about the thrid or forth song...

They started to jam and Sammy said "Hey, Mikey....(as he looked around the stage)...You knwo what's missing here?"

Michael Anthony said, what's that Sammy. Sammy responded in a smirky tone..."Not a damn thing."

That's the way I feel about the whole deal now.

This will not happen.

The tour will resume as it was. Be thankful VH even exists at all.
