Kiss has started selling recordings of their live concerts at the concert hall door as soon as 10 minutes after the concert has ended! Some of the fans that have purchased the new live CDs have begun seeding their concert recordings absolutely free to the public at various torrent trackers throughout the web that allow uploading of officially released music. I have already downloaded Kiss Live at Bergen Norway June 1, 2008 and Kiss Live at Copenhagen June 3, 2008. Don't miss out on these hot new releases!

Something new from the merchandise world champs! But I like this idea. How is the sound quality?

Sound is very good. If I want to be tough: The mixing leaves something to be desired. Not enough stereo seperation between the guitars. The vocals here are a little too far up in the mix. The bad mixes are typical for soundboard recordings you would find from illegal tapers that were sly enough to get plugged in. The finished products here lack the prime quality sound found on the commercial releases. If commercial releases are rated perfect 10's, than these are 8.5's. But the prices here $0.00 makes these so much more fun in my opinion.

Kiss is selling sub perfect recordings because if fans are willing to buy illegal bootlegs with equal or lesser sound values, then why shouldn't the band get into this market?

Thanks for the Info. The idea itself is very good and if you can buy it already 10 minutes after the concert I think it's ok not to have the best in sound.

has anyone compared these recordings, or any of the us ones, maybe they have a pre recorded show, and mix in the local city comments, not really the show from that night

I am the biggest KISS fan on the planet, but as ridiculous as your suggestion is, I wouldn't put it past them AT ALL to actually do something like that!!! I doubt if they are, but it's totally believable!

You mean from U.S. tour dates? They haven't landed here yet. They opened the tour in Australia and there are some CDs from the Ausi shows for sale at Ebay, etc. Nothing in the torrents as far as I can see...

You can find small differences in about everything they do if you try hard enough. Example: Paul will sing a line from a song one night and then spit it into your face on another.

Eric is incredible, like a robot performing perfectly every night, with a voice like a saxophone, flawless.

KISS isn't the first band to do this. It's a really cool idea...i've paid $10-30 for professional, mixed recordings of Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, and Genesis shows I attended, although they weren't available immediately. (Pearl Jam and Tori had theirs for sale online within a few days of the show, Genesis did factory-pressed discs that took about a month)

As far as the Kiss thing, I don't know why I'd listen to this if I WASNT at the show, since it's them doing Alive! with 35 more years of aging and two fewer original members, but it's a cool souvenir if you were there, for sure. I hope other artists pick up on this trend.
