The Long Songs

Postby StoneCold » Wed Sep 24, 2008 3:56 pm

Which songs that go on for over 5 minutes do you like ... or don't like?

This one's pretty cool and laid back. Over 10 minutes.

ok...I gotta say, great picks..but you just really needed to be around in the 60's. I have an album with this song on it - recorded live at the Matrix in San Franciso May 14, 1967. Very early line up of this band - the verison is 21:36 and takes up the entire side two of "Early SteppenWolf - Recorded Live at the Matrix, May 14, 1967" which is the title of my album. Really funny, just put this on CD yesterday....I wanted to see what condition my condition was in....I mean my album was in...it's been with me ALONG TIME!!!

Found this clip on youtube of SteppenWolf and "THE PUSHER" - not 21 + minutes tho.

Not sure exactly how long each song is but "Stairway To Heaven" (which seems to be the longest song ever recorded) and "Hotel California" are both very long songs. Also, "American Pie" !

Is Detroit Rock City a long song? I'll have to go back and check it. Always seem to zip through. Great bass in both of those.

DRC not a long song, its under 4 mins but great track nonetheless
