Great news from the Warrior Soul myspace!
www.myspace.com/warriorsoulinfo
"Warrior Soul will perform their classic album Last Decade Dead Century in it's entirety, as special guests of reformed Glasgow Rockers Gun on the following dates; 18th December - Shepherds Bush Empire, London, and 20th December, Carling Academy, Glasgow.
Warrior Soul are pleased to announce that Almighty front man Ricky Warwick will be appearing as our special guest on the forthcoming Warrior Soul UK tour.
Ricky will perform a purely acoustic set, including stripped down versions of classic Almighty songs, and some brand new Ricky Warwick tracks.
As if things couldn't get any better, Warrior Soul will perform their classic album Last Decade Dead Century in it's entirety, as special guests of reformed Glasgow Rockers Gun on the following dates; 18th December - Shepherds Bush Empire, London, and 20th December, Carling Academy, Glasgow.
Also, Kory Clarke has a new myspace site up.
Kory Clarke is also the new front man for the classic metal band TROUBLE (www.myspace.com/troublechicago) and is writing material with them for a new album (the first one featuring him on vocals w/Trouble) for a summer 2009 release."

This is excellent news and I encourage anyone that can see these guys to get out there and do so.
I saw them in Chicago on the opening night of the tour and it was great.
Here's my review.
I'm not a professional writer so bear with me.....
It’s been twelve years since any new material has surfaced from Warrior Soul and Kory Clarke has a lot to get off his chest.
Mr. Clarke isn’t one to hold anything back and on CHINESE DEMOCRACY, Warrior Soul’s first release in over a decade, he gets his revenge big time with material that rocks as hard as anything else the band has released. Raw and in your face this album lines up well with the first three Warrior Soul albums in terms of songwriting, power, and a punch right between the eyes as well as a kick in the ass. Right now the CD is available to order through the band’s myspace account and can be picked up at their gigs, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from going and grabbing this up.
Blasting out of the gates with the slamming Fuck The Pigs you pretty much know what you’re in for as Kory tells his tale of being hassled by the cops as he tries to get Chicago (one can only assume to hook up with the mighty Trouble).
officer I’ve been this way since 1978 / just wanted to relax / if you don’t look just like them / they love to throw you in the slam Kory sings with all the force he can muster. Guitarist’s Lundell, and Johnny H creating such a stir to go along with Kory’s rollicking tale one cannot help but be taken back by the out right rock that is being delivered to them.
Next up is the best track on the album and the one featured at the band’s myspace.

The Alex Jones wet dream The Fourth Reich has everything a conspiracy theorist could ever want out of a song, pulls it kicks major ass. This is right up my alley as I love this kind of thing and one can take it as truth in the form of the biggest dystopian nightmare come to life in one five mute blast ever recorded or as entertainment warning of what we can do to ourselves along with a New World Order government.
When Kory sings
They built detention centers / for all of you dissenters / to die of torture and disease
I don’t think he’s talking about just overseas.
Destroy the war machine / live in peace
Subscribe to the rant or not you cannot accuse this guy of not singing about what he believes in and that is what rock and roll is about. After all, at the last Motorhead show I saw it was Lemmy himself that introduced “Just Cause You Got The Power” by way of saying “This goes out to Obama and McCain who are pissing away all of our money while we stand here right now.” Mr. Clarke is indeed in good company.
Motor City is next and doesn’t let up one bit as Kory bids a fond farewell to his home town in style with this rockin’ tune. Filled with many home town references one can really feel the town as Kory hits the gas speeds out of it on a chugging riff that roars as much as that town’s auto industry once did.
The cautionary tale that is Don’t Believe is up next and with its awesome riff and great hooks is one tune that any band aspiring to anything should hear. Kory documents the music biz as a junkyard littered with the bones of bands ripped off and fucked over time and time again as he hisses And if you have any regrets booze will help you forget / all you need is a little success to find your life’s turned into a mess / If you’re wise you might survive / but only fools choose this life
For all the warnings contained in this song and others one of the things I love about this record is that it never gives up hope. And it’s not just the false chump change of a bloated political party – it’s real world advice such as in the Fourth Reich where Kory sings We start locally / where we have authority
In the end this song and this album is just that, a testament to not just surviving, but thriving by doing what you want no matter what.
The band is in total rock out mode for Burning Bridges.
Bad News (Rock n Roll Boyfriend) follows and is a the fun lovin’ story of just what the title says – a rock n roll boyfriend who just wants to kick some ass.
American / Outlaw / r n r / knucklehead / la la la Kory screams over the blistering leads. The future I don’t now / I just live rock n roll / bad news r n r boyfriend

The Iggy Pop classic Knocking ‘Em Down (In The City) closes the album and slams your head as it should. The perfect ending to a great time with Kory and the boys.

Much as been made on the net of the state of Kory’s voice. I love it. Decades of wear and tear have served to bring a sort of gin soaked character to his musings and I welcome it.
That is, after all, what rock n roll is about. Doing what you want no matter what the outcome, not giving a fuck and getting away with it.
I salute these guys for taking Warrior Soul out again and doing it justice.

I cannot wait to hear what Kory comes up with next with the mighty TROUBLE.
His voice and as a pal o mine put it ‘bat shit crazy lyrics’ over those big fat thunderous riffs of Wartell and Franklin – it’s gonna be awesome.
