Looking for songs that make you sad or have a haunting quailty to them.

Beaches of Cheyenne - Garth Brooks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOaP-3a2ojk

Still She Cries - Journey
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfeZ8wSvuj0

NOTE: On page 21 all songs posted up to then are linked together.

I always thought "It's Just the Rain" had a haunting quality about it.

I LOVE that song!

"Still She Cries" ftw. Good pick, StoneCold.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Probably because I have heard it played so many times during those video montages they put together after a celeb dies.

That one was played at my brother-in-laws funeral, chosen by my ex-husband because he knew his little brother really liked the song. He died tragically in a car accident in his early 30s. Actually had to click it off, still can't listen to it, probably never will be able to. It's a hauntingly beautiful song, but to sad of a memory attached to it.

This one of Perry's was the first one that came to mind....... One More Time http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=BjYyJ8EnHd0

Very poignant lyrics. Applies to a lot missed relationships or lives lost.

That is my favorite song ever. And I am not even a huge Aerosmith fan. But since I was 19, so for about 20 years now, that song has done something for me. It IS haunting because it's a song about getting older!! The music, the lyrics, all of it. And he wrote it when he was young, and I guess that is really impressive too, that he had that insight. It's sad but then still encouraging all at one time! So I pick that one too I guess

Good pick. Unlike a lot of other sad songs, its more haunting in its rockier parts like at 1:05.

I ditto this one too! That song is very emotional for me, if emotional counts as haunting

Right now, I'm watching a Foreigner show from June 1995, Mr. Moonlight tour and that's the song they're currently doing. Great tune.
