ADDING US TOUR DATES THIS YEAR?

Postby PianoMan1986 » Sat Mar 14, 2009 6:02 am

I checked on the band's website to see what their tour plans looked like -- disappointed to see they're not showing any signs of playing a show near me this year, but it looks like they're hitting hard in Europe. Anyone know if they're still confirming tour dates?

You have probably read this before, but unfortunately the "official" website is not on top of posting tour dates. There are several that are already on sale that have not even been posted there yet! Most are on the west coast, so far though. :(

khfan, always good to hear from you. Hopefully all is well. Is it a matter of just finding these things out by chance, or is there some place that the rest of the Foreigner fans go to that I'm not aware of?

Hey back! :)

Honestly, I am not sure if there is another place Foreigner fans gather. It may be something we are both not aware of! ;) LOL At least, there is not a place where I personally go. I had a Foreigner site for a short time, but I just didn't have time to maintain it. Things should slow down for me again in the fall so maybe I will do something then. I usually find out about dates either through word-of-mouth or via broker sites, or somehow just stumbling over them. I know there are some female fans who have... ummmmm....made "friends" with the tour manager, and they get dates from him....which eventually the gossip gets out.

Take care!

If I hear of anything near IL, I will let you know! Is it IL, right?? :)

 ::laughing hysterically:: at the comment on some female fans making "friends" with the tour manager. Anyway, keep me posted. Yep, IL is where I live (well, northern IL)

they tore up Houston last night.

I took a short vid, as did my friend, and will post soon at youtube. I got some great pics!

What do you know about this drummer, Brian? He played the drum solo WITH HIS HANDS!

I saw the show on Saturday night. The new drummer was hard-core, wildly good. Forgot his name, though.

Being in the round I'm sure it was extra tough for the roadies/techs, constantly running on/off the moving stage, with instrument changes and everything, but they made it work. I wonder what the band thought of the venue.

Also, I'm glad I got to hear 3 songs I didn't hear them play on the 2007/2008 co-headlining tours with Def Leppard and Bryan Adams. Trying to get to one more show before they head to Europe!

Brian Tichy has been touring & writing with Billy Idol. I saw him at the Jack show last year with Billy, and then again with Michael Schenker at the NAMM HOB show. I spent most of my time watching him, rather than Schenker at HOB. :P If Jason isn't drumming for Foreigner, I'm glad it's Brian. Brian also played on Shaw Blades's Influence.

So I went last night. The band was good and they played the exact same set list from when I saw them last year. They were great, but the crowd was extremely boring. They didn't get into the show until the encores. They sat there virtually the entire show, including the opening song (who sits during an opening song?) and when Kelly ran into the audience. I get bugged by people who sit during an entire rock concert. I certainly understand those who can't stand or stand for long periods of time, but then there are those who can who just sit there like they're at a play. A rock concert is an interaction, not a 1950s feature film.
