IMAGINE IF KEITH URBAN DID SAME TO MARY J. BILGE

Postby sal45evan » Thu Sep 17, 2009 8:58 am

Unimaginable firestorm could happen if Keith Urban disrespect Mary J. Bilge just like Kanya West did to Taylor Swift.
Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and rest of the crew will be at ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, BET and the rest asking for his head.

i don't know he's right. actually i know he's wrong. kieth urban has way too much class to ever do something so stupid and mean to a kid no matter how much he might have had to drink. it's not a race thing, it's a class/manners thing. people are outraged at his behavior, mainly beyonce. so many folks claim there is no longer racism in america, but this type of stuff proves it is alive and well. why look at the color of his skin? the act in itself speaks loud and clear- the guy is, to quote our president, "a jackass."

Uhh, Keith Urban was clearly a hypothetical white person, or to quote our beloved Buffoon In Chief, "a typical white person." Anyway, that aside, we all know how Kanye feels and we know it was race-fueled. Now, moving further from the actual incident and speaking in generalities, the point gets most important: The double standard needs to stop. If I'm not supposed to construe this as racist, given what I know about Kanye, then black people certainly can't construe any adverse act against them racist. White advocates need to stop doing it too... Carter is the latest example of idiocy.

All it does is perpetuate racism, one way or the other. The only way to end all this double standard nonsense and all these accusations of racism, founded or unfounded, is for blacks to no longer have the unilateral race card.

So I'm generalizing here, but I've been hearing a lot of this talk here lately and it's sort of annoying me. Do you know why black people have the "Race card"? White people have been on the top of the heap for centuries, and we've put every other color person below us for nearly that long. Does that give them the right to turn the tables on us and do the same exact thing? No, but you should at least empathize with their anger and fears and realize why they act that way.

The only real way to fix this problem is for both black and white people to stop blaming each other for their problems. We should have the right to feel as if we're not walking on eggshells, but we need to realize that the sort of contempt going on in places like this thread is not helping either. We are all equals, and both black and white people need to remember that.

PEACE AND LOVE, PEOPLE! :P

And you would know, eh? How about another cliche, "takes one to know one"....

Forget Keith Urban....Brad Paisley will fit. Toby Keith....Kenny Chesney....Rodney Adkins....Craig Morgan....insert 'whitey' here...

The point is well made. If this were the other way around, irrespective of ANY racial statement made by above-said whitey....The fact remains that every Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson type would be calling for the head of said whitey....on a bling encrusted platter.

Anyone ignoring the racial aspect of the Kanye's actions are merely burying their white guilt in the sand along with their heads....

I have to disagree Frank... I love when these celebrities show themselves for what they are!!! This idiots actions this weekend highlight the idiocy of his, "George Bush doesn't care about black people" comment.

I love when they open their yaps and sink themselves...including the Bamster, everytime he lies through his teeth ("I won't sign a bill that raises the deficit 1 dime") his approval rating on health care drops!!! :D

I say keep showing yourselves to the American people!!!

That would be all well and good. What I can't stand is when others are having a good scrap, and you butt in and start trying to call balls and strikes on who said what and who's right or wrong!!!

People, including myself don't mind a good debate. That's what makes me want to tell you to STFU most times.

I guess I'm supposed to let some idiot say whatever they want and not say anything back? Would you? Hey, I've tried it both ways, respond and ignore many times and it's still done. I'm pretty dang sick and tired of some constantly trying to make it all about me too. I don't get why your not saying something to Frank instead of me here in this thread but.. whatever. Alright...from now on, if I post here..anyone can say anything towards me they want and I won't respond at all. Hows that? Fair? Seen and not heard. No opinions of my own and let people walk all over me. You got it.

Except that you don't; I've asked you politely and respectfully on more than one occasion to let a matter drop, and you have insisted on carrying on. People jump on you because you have a long history of hypocrisy, of involving yourself in other people's debates, of setting yourself up as the moral arbiter over others, and it gets irritating, so we jump in because you are doing the same thing again, just to someone else. You make snap judgements about other people's motives, then point blank refuse to listen to them or accept what they say when they disagree with your interpretation; you take it upon yourself to make moral judgements about other people's actions, and usually do so hypocritically because you condemn someone for doing what you have recently and repeatedly done yourself; when the flaws and/or hypocricy in your posts are pointed out, you refuse to acknowledge what has been said but instead attack the poster; you always have to have the last word, no matter what.

The end result is that you present as someone who is incredibly aggresive, rude, argumentative, uncaring, self-centred and loaded with hubris. Which is frustrating, because when you aren't busy being the moral police, you have interesting stuff to say, and you seem to have done some pretty generous, caring things for others. But your apparent need to put everyone else in the wrong no matter what wipes all of that out. A little humility goes a long way, you know?
