Agreed. If it's true, and she needed to unburden herself with it, there are other outlets. Therapy, perhaps?!

The motivation here is very clear given that she's spilling it to the world in a book.

I mean good lord, I like a good juicy autobiography once in awhile but this is even too much for me.
Sex with her father?! BLECH!

I'm sticking with Nikki Sixx's book. At least he cleaned himself up and works to support the cause now.
(at least, that's the last update I received... lol)

Fact Finder wrote:"Don't hate my father," Mackenzie Phillips tells PEOPLE.

But in a tell-all book out Wednesday, the former childhood actress reveals that her dad, musician John Phillips of the '60s band the Mamas and the Papas, engaged with her in a long-term incestuous relationship.

Phillips, 49, who has survived drug addiction, arrests and divorce, writes in the book High on Arrival that she was already a star playing a boy-crazy teen on the TV sitcom One Day at a Time when her father had sex with her on the night before she was to marry Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, in 1979.

"On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it," writes Phillips, who was 19 and a heavy drug user at the time. "I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad's bed."

"My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."

"Had this happened before? I didn't know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it."

Phillips' life began to spiral out of control. In 1980, she was fired from One Day at a Time because of her constant drug use. That same year, she went to rehab – with her father. Her sexual relationship with him had become consensual.

For much more from Macknezie's book – including her fling with Mick Jagger, what her family said about her rape accusations and her fears that she was pregnant with her own father's baby – pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now.

Then again, according to homosexual advocates, they should be allowed to get married I guess. Sickos.

Absolutely NOT the same thing and you damn well know that.

And when and where did you ever see or hear a gay rights supporter say that incest was acceptable? Citation please.

Obviously it started as rape, not consensual sex. Sounds like Stockholm syndrome or something else psychologically manipulative, she probably convinced herself it was consensual eventually .

But I agree it's dumb to be writing a book about it for everyone to read.

Right... she came out of a blackout to find her father doing her.. uh... RAPE. If it kept going on, maybe he had her in some way convinced it was ok, or she was too drugged up to care.

In any case, he was a filthy rapist and I question the motive behind a book like this. Then again, how many other celebs, pseudo-celebs and has-beens spill out stuff like this when the bank account dries up... didn't Maureen McCormick just do it too?

I found this 1981 People Magazine cover. Who would have guessed they were banging each other at the time?

Image

Now we know the reasl story about how they kicked their $1-million drug habit... they replaced it with incest.

Are you seriously this fucking moronic? I have never heard ANYONE advocating that parents should be marrying or having sex with their children. Apparently you're simply too intellectually challenged to understand the difference between incest (a crime) and one's sexual orientation (not a crime outside of your dimented world)! What a fucking DOPE!

I think Tito's point is being misinterpreted, partially because he's too dumb to articulate it well enough!  Anyway, I would like to ask the pro-homosexual contingent what they would think about this exact same case minus the rape part. The homosexuals always argue that the non-homos "shouldn't tell 2 consenting adults what they can or can't do." So, if a girl that's 25 years old decides she wants her old man to bust a few nuts in her, who are you guys to tell her she can't? Personally, I find both acts (homosexuality and incest) disgusting and I think nature has a way of filtering out sexually deviant behavior...gays can't reproduce and incestuous relationships yield kids that look and act like they're from Kentucky.
