Just heard that UC have signed with Frontiers.. with all the original members (including one of the greatest pure melodic rock vocalist of all time!).

I've waiting a long time to hear Marcie Free on a new record and I cannot wait... vocals of gold!

WOW, seriously??? I love UC and Free is an outstanding vocalist. Hopefully this will be very good.

actually the band is called Arrival... but secondly... I dont think Arrival had quite the same splash as Highway to hell... so I dont see your point..

actually the band is called Arrival... but secondly... I dont think Arrival had quite the same splash as Highway to hell... so I dont see your point..

Considering the few interviews that have been given, the choice was either to change, or die. Some people can follow through with suicide--Marcie said she couldn't, even though it was the much more preferable option. Just think how many personal friends, family and acquaintances turned their backs and walked away. I can't possibly even imagine being in that situation, so I refuse to pass judgment. The whole thing is tragic--nothing more, nothing less.

Regardless, Free had one of the best voices out there (and some of the worst luck for a singer that gifted), and supposedly the voice is still there. I, for one, am interested to see what happens. It's not like there are many opportunities for a live performance anyway.

Does anyone know if any of the songs on her myspace page were done in the recent past, like in the past few years?

I can't get to these from work, but I will check them out from home.

Loved Signal and Unruly Child, and also have Mark's "Long Way From Love" album that includes the CD of Mark's performance at The Gods, so I will keep an eye out for the new UC.

As long as the talent is the same, I could care less whether it's Mark or Marcie.

....and one of the better raw live albums out there. 3 days rehearsal between a singer and a band who had never met face to face. Pure live, no overdubs, warts and all with basically no reverb on the vocals either. Oh, and a bunch of improvisation between the studio and live cuts (as your example illustrates).
