Any one else get pissed while trying to measure Tide HE Detergent that is blue into a measuring cap that also happens to to be the same color blue.

I think this is a gimmick to cause consumers to overpour.

I'm tempted to start a class action suit. F'n pisses me off.

Now, back to the laundry.

By the way...is this "off topic" in the Treasures of Isis?

Get the Tide with Downy with the lighter blue cap, and problem solved, lol. Tide rules, that's all we get, Tide kicks all other laundry detergent asses.

F caps. I eyeball it. Southern women are notorious for thinking they don't need measuring cups anyway.

I normally only use half the recommended amount anyway. I think detergent is over used at the instruction of the manufacturer to get you to need more faster, hence more money for them.

I pour blue Purex into a same-color-blue cap constantly without overpouring.
You might be doing it wrong.

If you continue to experience difficulty, I suggest obtaining a clear cup that resembles your Tide cap in both depth and girth.
This may fix your blue-on-blue issue.

Doesn't that give you 90 loads compared to 120 loads from regular Tide, with the same size box? I've got 4 or 5 translucent green cups from years ago that I saved for whatever reason and those work fine.

See, now this is why we needed a general forum! So we could listen to a bunch of guys compare laundry detergent

However...the purpose was to point out that P&G seems to be TRYING to make us overpour. Why the hell would you make a measuring cap the same damn color as what you are measuring??? Seems a bit moronic...or a conspiracy.

I have a question... are you turning the light on in your laundry room? Cause um... color matching or not, the detergent does reflect light and your depth perception should tell you when you've enough...

Hey, you can do man things with Tide. Back in the day when I used to work on cars a lot, Tide was great stuff for getting grease off my hands.

I use Fab or Gain for my regular stuff. They smell great, clean my clothes, get rid of static cling &.... oh yeah.... they don't cost a fortune either. I use Dreft for my special stuff. I know it's a baby detergent, but I like it.

If you're counting pennies, get this stuff from the Ranch Market. Only a third of the price and good in a pinch.

Fast Orange is good for emergencies if you get oil or grease on your clothes, just don't use it too often as it can wear your clothing fibers down like kerosene does after too many repeated uses.

Dang...you sound like my wife...it's always something "I" did or not did. I do have lights in the laundry room. I am getting old though and do have some trouble without my reading glasses.

Most clothing doesn't require anything other than a simple wash with a moderate amount of detergent. A quarter to a third of a cup is the same as a whole cup, or the whole fucking bottle. Unless you work underneath cars as a mechanic, are a garbage man, or are just a filthy fuck, you should really only need about a quarter of a cup to clean your clothes.

Don't know, haven't looked, lol. All I know is I used cheap crap detergent for years before having kids, with kids, nothing IMO gets baby and kid stuff cleaned as well as Tide. And I've used every detergent out there too, having the same bitch fest here about the price and refusing to buy it for a long time. I'm a bargain shopper for pretty much everything else at the grocery store, so buying Tide really isn't breaking our bank account or anything

i love tide! only buy it on sale tho. dean uses way too much detergent and softener. moderation is not in his vocabulary.

Detergent is overrated. We wash our clothes in the creek behind our house.

According to Tide's website, Liquid detergents are usually better at removing greasy stains, while powdered detergents are usually better at removing mud, dirt and other ground soils.

Kids are greasy, so some of us need liquid

I used to but now have a front loader and the powder gets all mucked up in the drawer where you load it. Liquid is much neater.

All liquid laundry detergents produce too much suds no matter how little you seem to use. Go with powdered Tide & your problem will be solved...Tide w/ April Fresh Downey powder is the best - I can only get it at wal-mart anymore though. Man, we are bored if we are talking about laundrey aren't we
