Saw 1 single copy of this in Wal-Mart the other day -- looked like a WM exclusive release. My first thought was, cool cover art, but probably another suckola Frehley solo album. I went ahead and looked up some reviews and was amazed at how overwhelmingly positive they were, so I grabbed it. This CD ROCKS!!! Good heavy guitar, solid production, and Ace sounds as good as ever. The songwriting is much better than what I remember of some past albums, and the songs are catchy and Ace goes in a different direction with some tunes like "Genghis Khan" than he's gone before. If you are an Ace fan, I highly recommend it.

It's a 50/50 for me... Some decent tunes, but Ace's songs seem to be 2-3 different songs made into one. The music during the verses doesn't flow well into the chorus music much of the time. I much prefer the Frehley's Comet and Second Sighting albums because I think Tod Howarths songwriting really carried those cd's.

I'm a HUGE KISS fan, and Ace's '78 solo album is among my all-time favorites. I think Ace's new one, Anomaly, is a good effort, but not great. I DO however think that the new KISS album, Sonic Boom, is DAMN GOOD.

I never paid that much attention to his solo stuff outside KISS-- just remember not being able to get into the discs I had, and skipped the last couple. One of those Howarth discs had a reworked version of "Megaforce" and I didn't like that at all. Same song and melody but with different title and lyrics. Maybe I should give some of them another try.

Opening song's guitar riff is similar like the heavy version of "I Was Made For Loving You". The guitars are definitely heavier than original KISS, and the drums are pounding.

The last 'good' Ace song from a Kiss album was, 'Darklight' from Music from the Elder(a highly underrated album)
Didn't care too much for much of his solo work....The Frehley's Comet stuff was ok. Kinda gravitated towards the Howarth songs.
Of course, his 1978 solo album is a classic.
That 'Megaforce' remake was, 'Calling to You'.

I listened to "Anomaly" when it was streamed in its entirety.
Craptastic describes this cd perfectly.
The guy could never write a good song and his vocals have
always been terrible. He's been playing the same pentatonic
scale in every solo he's recorded since 1974.
Drugs and alcohol did him in a long time ago.
